Six-month old baby dies after being struck by vehicle | 33 year-old man charged

I'd propose the death penalty, only the more liberal minded on here would be all around me, like a swarm of locusts. So I won't. I will ask the one question, though, before bailing out of the thread; what purpose will it serve, releasing him back into the community once he's done his time? What addition will he be to the community?

When did we have capital punishment for manslaughter? Don't think even China does.

You might be better off asking that in Romanian, if/when he's convicted he'll eventually be deported.

Not sure anyone in the UK will be willing to employ a child killing labourer with drug and alcohol issues.

My Romanian isn't brilliant, to be honest. It's all I can do to post reasonably intelligible English. I hope he is deported. But if he's in the UK legally, some solicitor will take his case on, claiming it's unfair treatment

There will always be the lefties who jump to his defence unless it’s their kids that are involved of course. You only have to look at the huge numbers of solicitors in high immigrant areas that specialise in immigration and human rights issues, all paid for at the tax payers expense of course. They can raise the funds to get here no problem on the understanding the tax payers will pick up the bill to help them stay. We are fucked.

The presumption for this offence and length of prison term is that he is deported. The only thing I think likely to sway an appeals judge is possibly family life.

From what I can tell the suspect has children or stepchildren but they are unlikely to be minors when he is released and the family don't seem to have been living here for that long.

The modern day equivalent of "ambulance chasers".

I'm not sure anyone has defended him. As I said, I'd expect him to be deported. As he's been declaring his nationality as Romanian to Companies House, we can infer he doesn't have dual nationality, he probably doesn't have ILR but even that can be revoked. I also think he should be deported.

Not sure when due process became a lefty issue. He's entitled to legal representation.

Well I could have missed the signs but I cannot recall anyone on the left saying let’s pull up the drawbridge. What you would expect with deportation and what happens in reality, are worlds apart. That is why we are fucked, the rules need tightening up as to what can be challenged in a deportation order. Who isn’t going to try every trick in the book if someone else is paying for it

Can we translate this to let's not have an appeals process?
