Manchester City today announces Seasoncard prices and policies for the 2010/11 season.
In line with the Club’s policy and aim to be both innovative and fair, we have implemented a groundbreaking new range of ticketing products.

Having listened to feedback from our fans, we can now offer a wider choice of Stadium experiences with prices and facilities to match. Many changes will be made to certain areas of the concourses over this and subsequent summers, which will result in a range of products to suit each and every type of fan.

A brand new Value ticket will be introduced that will cost just £250, or just over £13 per game. This represents a 32% reduction on our lowest priced adult Seasoncard. There is currently only one other Premier League club offering a cheaper product.

The £95 season card for under 16s remains for those sitting in the Family Stand. This area of the North Stand will see significant improvements to facilities, with family orientated stewarding, tailored children’s entertainment and family friendly food and drink options.

The average price increase for adults next season will be just over 5%, but fans in some seats will see a decrease in what they pay. Many supporters, particularly in areas of high demand, will benefit from an enhanced matchday experience.

The popular South Stand will be expanded, with improved food offering, multi-pour drink dispensers and entertainment and atmosphere suited to this singing section.

A “premium” product package, also a response to fans’ feedback, will follow next season.

The Club will be pleased to assist with fans wishing to relocate from their current seat to benefit from any of the new products on offer.

-- Thu Apr 22, 2010 7:41 am --

My moan. Why only multi drinks dispensers in the south stand!!

I wonder just how many of the £250 season tickets they will have. Seems a clever way of ensuring full houses.

Surely these policies are aimed at getting blokes without kids into the south stand. I can definitely understand why those with kids are aggrieved but I think the club is genuinely trying to improve things. In this case I think they are trying to improve the atmosphere by trying to make areas of the ground which are clearly supposed to attract a particular type of person. If you want to stand and sing then it's the south stand. Want to take your kids, north stand. It makes sense to me but it's impossible to make all 47XXX happy all of the time. I'm going to wait to see how it all turns out before offering any firm conclusion on whether this is a positive move or not though.

For £250 I'm much more interested.

I can't go to every game because I work some Saturdays but it still seems good value for money!

Back row level three for you then

And why is that? Is that where the seats at that price are?

I used to go week in week out when I didn't have to work the odd Saturday. My dad works at the COMS so he took me and brought me back, I sat on Level 3 then.

Re the £250 season tickets. Are these going to be like the ones Blackburn offer but cover only 15 out of the 19 league games, and the 4 games that aren't included will be the Rags, Arse, Chelsea, and the dippers? I could be wrong on that of course but it's the way the club are describing it as a "Value ticket" that makes me think this could well be the case.

Can anyone confirm this?

£250 divided by 19 = £13.15. Which concludes it's for all the home league matches

If similar prices had been around 15 years ago when I had to give up my ticket due to a young family, I would have been happy to have to sit in the worst seat in the ground. No problem.

I'm not fussy when it comes to seats.

Sat in E 101 at the derby, I've sat by the away fans in the cup game against Scunthorpe and I've been on Level 3 before today too.

The club has been very clever they are stating the reason for the changes are due to fan feedback. so all the people on here who banged on about multi beer pullers operation one end the blue allience more cheaper tickets for kids charge away fans more etc

are getting what they asked for

not just in the way you may have wanted !
I for one think it would be fairer just to charge a single price for a seat in a given stand and the market forces will eventually set the price.

Is it fair for a yuppy 20 year old earning mega bucks to be charged less than a 59 year old forklift driver earning 12k a year for similar seats ?

a seat is a seat and if there were no concessions we all would be paying less than £350 a year

D'oh! I really should've worked that out before asking the question lol.

That represents fantastic value if you're prepared to accept being allocated a seat by the club and not having any say in the matter. Will definitely appeal to a good number of people but probably not for me in all fairness - I'm happy enough in the singing section with my mates.

3 times I asked for the survey to be sent so that I could have my two-penneth worth but could not access it each and every time. In the end I gave up. I did however, pose a cheeky question asking for Forces discount to which no response was forthcoming.

This set of announcements proves that the club is in good hands.

The way I see it after reading the official info,

They are getting as close to a drinkers and singers section/stand as the law allows - which the fans should be pleased with surely.

They are increasing the amount of space and money pumped into the family stand so that there are more entertainments for them that wont piss off the drinkers as they are separated out.

The concourses are going to offer more things to do in order to extend the hours of use on matchdays, sounds interesting.

£250 for a season ticker is brilliant value and still allows the fans access to all the new stuff as well, thats bloody good value.

Add in City street and we should all be proud of how our club does all of this and on only a 5% increase for some people, and from a pretty low level of cost to start with.
