I don’t see the attraction with anfield it’s a horrible kip we never turn up and more often than not get beat I’ve fucked it off years ago

Cheers yep, know that. @Chappie has been to more away grounds than anyone I know and, to my best knowledge, is just missing Hartlepool and Orient from the “old” 92. Those he’s done include couple first team friendlies(Exeter).Nice attempt at humour but as a pedantic twunt I have to point out we've never played Hartlepool away in a first-team fixture. The only game against them was the 6-0 FA Cup win at Maine Road in 1976. - The day Dennis Tueart and one of their players (Potter?) were sent off.
When it comes to putting in the hard yards, few have more / better insight.

Yes. And when we discussed this with the club, they agreed. The only problem is if, say, Barclays ask for 4 tickets for an away game, these won't be named tickets. But that should be the only exception. But where an individual gets tickets through Hospitality, then they should also be included.And do you think that the other groups that get a percentage of the tickets should come under the same scrutiny as you are suggesting for the loyalty points scheme.
What we wanted was for the system to be fair to fans so that people aren't passing on tickets to people who aren't entitled to them.
Who decides who is and who isn’t entitled to them though. Why should Barclays receive four tickets in an away end? If we start promising sponsors guaranteed tickets for away games the genuine fan ends up being squeezed every time. If you have bought a ticket via points legitimately but on the day you are, for example too ill to travel of an emergency arises then of course you are going to try and sell your ticket to a fellow blue. You aren’t going to ask how many points do they have. How many people were routinely buying tickets, collecting points and then not attending games. It’s almost impossible to track paper tickets isn’t it. So how many were systemically abusing the system each week that led to away points being removed?Yes. Don't be naive. If someone is paying us millions of pounds a year, they're going to get tickets. It's even written into the contract. I know Hays got them as I was at a game and saw someone I knew from when I'd done some work for them. They were mostly very coy about their methods and I'm not going to talk about what little they did tell us but I'd be monitoring social media sites, having 'spotters' at games and doing test buying, among other things. Their evidence indicated that 25-30% of away tickets were being passed on and that's completely unacceptable. I know at least 2 former mods on here (not anyone who's currently moderating I hasten to add) were doing it regularly.
There was one game (might have been Cardiff away) where there were over 100 tickets available on this forum alone. I think that game (it was a 3pm kickoff on a Saturday) went to general sale and I was glad of the chance to go.
I am not being naive, but my point still stands, why should sponsors receive sought after away tickets when they have little or no interest in the club. Give them home tickets not away ones. And just because people were on here or Meta/FB/X it doesn’t mean in all cases tickets were sold and it doesn’t mean people didn’t have genuine reasons for doing so every so often. If it was 25% does that include OSC and hospitality tickets are just those through the points scheme? Still not convinced that those on top points did all the hard yards and then thought they couldn’t be bothered to watch the games live but will buy the tickets for the points. Have they now decided to travel to away games again given that many games, not all sell out at high points. Will be interesting to see how low the derby goes given dippers went to 23k. Does the club think it acceptable to have united fans in our away ends or groups of other club’s fans in our end or people paying £300 for a £30 ticket? Our away ends should be packed with genuine fans who will support the team, not fans of other clubs, people who are on a corporate jolly etc.

I’d never swerve an away game based on how shit our record is at that particular ground because that’s not really what away games are about for me and many others. It’s about the quality of the day out and the atmosphere in the away end. To that end, Liverpool is far from the best these days, although it has to be said that it’s not usually too bad for a slurp in the city centre. The atmosphere though just seems to get worse as the years go by. Last season was the first time I’d been for a few years and I wish I hadn’t bothered. It was the worst atmosphere in the City end at Anfield that I can ever remember. I was going to sack it off this year as a result because I pick and choose my away games these days but after we got beat again on Saturday I thought fuck it, I’m going!

25-30% of match tickets past on you say...but no actual evidence as the club 'coy about methods'. In terms of spotters at games (one of the methods), what are the details? Who were they spotting? They don't hold photo I'd of any of us...so I'm baffled as to what this entailed. Sorry but I don't believe the club.
