Depends where the gig is. You can pay Ticketmaster for membership of some club that gives such access. Also for some gigs if you subscribe to the MEN Arena you get pre sale access to tickets. I did for Metallica. Live Nation, who own the Palace and Opera theatres sell a theatre card that gets pre sale access for shows at their theatres.

Ticketmaster is the rake! Have you noticed that they will not sell you tickets, and then forward you to their "auction" site, where tickets are usually twice the price?
