I have to say, I feel less affinity to the club now than I did a couple of years ago. It seems like a policy to distance themselves from the fans so they can charge more / thrust advertisments in your face. I hope I never get to the point where I won't renew, but after straining my eyes to see the game on Monday, trying to block out the flashing banner adverts in my face, I kind of felt this could be the beginning of the end where it's not enjoyable anymore.

I'm starting to feel like I'm on a slippery slope too. It's worrying.

Again I think that's one of the problems, a couple of years ago the club were eager to listen to fans views, and took them on board and made changes. The last questionaire they sent out regarding the food pricing, they basically didn't give you an option to say "The food is too expensive". That's not what they want to hear. Instead they give you a trick question economics study questionaire where they can evaluate the maximum they can possibly charge you for a meat pie.

It's the same with ticket prices. They are not interested in what you can afford as a fan, what fits in to your family budget, based on your earnings and outgoings. Instead, they are interested in what is the absolute maximum you are willing to pay. They are preying on people's loyalty where fans are over-stretching themselves because they don't want to stop going to watch City because it's part of who they are.

I understand the supply and demand aspect, I understand that the club has to be profitable. But there seems to be a rampant commercialism of the club now which could definitely chase traditional fans away. It's short term thinking. They might be maximising profits this year, but I would imagine if it gets much worse there will be a lot of loyal fans who will think twice about coming next season. £56 for a home match with Stoke, it's bordering on insanity.

You never ever ever stop fucking whingeing about something this club are doing, do you? Ever? Blah blah fucking blah, right through this golden era. Post after post, thread after thread, and most of it rooted in profound ignorance and bitterness.

I'd hate to be like you. what a miserable and unfulfilled life you must lead.

Unless it's true that you are a united fan, in which case your incessant whinging is understandable.

Stoke tickets are available to the open market, games like LIverpool, Chelsea etc you as good as need the new Cityzens card (Old blue member) to secure a ticket for these games, cost is £35 for the season.

Not sure if it is 100% true but the guy sitting next to me at Liverpool game said that his seasoncard for next season was going up to over £1000, he sits on East Stand Level 2, bit steep if true.

I thought it would beyond even "King WUM" to pretend not to give a shit about loyal fans being priced out of going to games. Obviously not.

The rampant commercialism of football is a fairly common complaint of football fans across the country. I recall you starting a campaign a couple of seasons back about "Killing the Cheese". Well pre-match and half time entertainment for children may be offensive to you, but your whingeing about that could be considered by others with young families to be "rooted in profound ignorance and bitterness".

You are a grown man who spends his days seeking to wind people up on the internet, and have created an online alter ego that makes you feel important. You're no different to the lonely guy who plays World of Warcraft or whatever the latest fantasy role play game is, and immerses himself in a world where he is a wizard with a magical empire.

It obviously brings some joy to your life, so good luck to you, but suffice to say, I'd hate to be like you too.

Im not paying it on principle. Waited til on general sale and got a paper ticket. Thats how its going to be from now on. The price hykes are disgusting. £48 quid v Stoke. Fss!!!! I'm only going to be able to afford to go once a month this season which is gutting. When your paying 30 quid petrol on top of 50 quid ticket it gets rediculous. My kids will only be going to home cup games and not renewing their junior cards - another 20 quid each. Bleeding us dry. Thanks for the loyalty city - although I do believe its mainly due to fuckin FFP which forces us to make money we didn't used to need. Fuckin hate UEFA and couldn't give a shit about champs league this season when we're 'seeded' below Arsenal. Piss take all round!!!!!

well I love going to City more than any time in the last 37 years. I will take the cup finals, title deciders, 6-0s, derby victories and European trips, thanks very much. Every fan in the land dreams of what has happened to us. I spent 30 years dreaming of it. I'm not going to let the best era in the club's history pass me by because I'm a moaner, thanks. I'm smelling the roses along the way.

I've very sympathy for those priced out of football. But I've no sympathy for bottom-lip-out Luddites.

If you didn't enjoy thumping Liverpool on Monday you are a clown.

Impressive amount of unrelated bollocks there; well done. The football is great and I'm sure if you're here for the success then you won't mind the club milking you for every penny in the coming years if you can afford it. I've had some of the best times of my 30 years following City recently but it comes at a price of some of the joy being sucked out of the experience. It's never been about hoovering up trophies for a lot of us and if this trend continues then we'll have to knock it on the head and it will be a large part of our lives gone.

I'm a ST holder so high matchday prices don't really affect me but it's blatantly obvious that the club has started to try and squeeze every last penny out of people in the past couple of seasons. Hopefully the expansion and associated increased corporate offerings will stop this trend but upwards of £50 for a league game ticket in an average seat is ridiculous.

You don't and you never did need to pay the membership fee which is £35 anyway.
