Today the eyes of the world (and hopefully Kaka!) will be on Eastlands to watch the richest club in the world play little Wigan. All will be wanting us to fall at this first hurdle, we don't have a rake of new players .. yet! Just the team that embarrassed us against forrest, no Ireland and perhaps a not a fully fit Robinho or SWP, a team which plays on confidence that has no confidence against a team that is all about being physical and competing for every second ball, this could be a VERY difficult afternoon for us today.
Although i believe if somebody is playing shite, as a paying customer you have the right to let rip, today I think every supporter has to lay off and get behind the team, especially players like Richards and Vassell if they play (We all know their faults!) cheer them on and give an indication to the coming players ( again, hopefully Kaka!!) How good the city fans really are, recently there have been some bad attendances and atmospheres, most notably cup games, so tell your mates who are 'thinking' of coming to get their arses to the game and cheers the boys on!!
The importance of this game in my eyes is HUGE, if we win we provide a platform to push on if and when the new players ( again, please god let it be Kaka :-0) come. If results go our way we could be near the top half with a game in hand. If we lose we could be bottom 3 and the headlines have already been written for that.
Sorry if this appears to be a rant, it's not I am just really exited as are most of us and have seen one to many false blue dawns and think we can play our part today. Most important of all though KEEP THE FAITH
