Time to stop 11 men in the box?

Nope. Defending this way is in fact how some underdog teams even nick 3 points off top sides. It's boring and frustrating to watch especially if your team is the one attacking, but this is football. Probably bothers us more because we are heavily countered by it.

Team A sets-up team to overwhelm opponent's box, Team B responds by defending with 11 men in the box, it's Team A's job and turn to respond.
Why not have a VAR stoppage so they can count the players

Probably comes across as sour grapes after last night, but surely it can't be good for the future of football to just have teams sit 10 men in the box for the full game in the aim of getting a point?

We make many changes to make the game flow better like the offside rule or no passbacks. Is it time to introduce a minimum players in the box rule?

We see it more and more, teams sitting sitting deep and it turns the game into a shitfest and kills any excitement. Obviously as a City fan it would benefit us and not lesser teams, but surely as a football fan such a rule would improve the excitement of the game?
When a team has a legit tactic to win against us, let's discuss another rule to ban that tactic.
That tactic helped the opponent to have more shots on total, more shots on goal, and have more goals; who care, just ban it.

I agreed with the first bit, don't agree with the suggestion on how to stop it.

I think fining a team that has less than 25% possession in a half would be a better suggestion.

When we have players such as Bernardo, Rodri, Gundogan, Fernandinho, and Mahrez, then we play to their technical strengths by condensing the game in the opponent’s half; but, that means we are forcing weaker opponents even farther back. If we had younger and more athletic midfielders, then we could play deeper in our own half and lengthen the pitch, yet that would in turn come with its own risks.

Watching the defending of our team against PSG was incredible.

The video that night shows the effort Zinc , Stones and Dias made to block an attack, exceptional defending and just as good as watching Mahrez score at the other end.

Great defending can be a joy, as Ruben Dias has shown since his arrival, a proper old school defender, a leader and wonderful player to appreciate.

Perhaps something similar to goalline technology could be used. Each player has to wear a bracelet thing and the 6th person who tries to get into the box when 5 are already there gets a (mild) electric shock or something.
Or a shock big enough to kill him. In the box and you're dead. Bruno Fernandes defending close to the box when they have 5 already in. Push him in, dead, gone. Boom!

Parking the bus is often synonymous with kicking the crap out of us and generally much diving and pulling of shirts. Poor teams doing everything they can to stop you scoring. Much better officiating would stop/prevent this happening but we all know that this isn't going to happen.

I was a basketball coach for many, many years and by and large the refs got most decisions correct. They had 2 refs, one leading and one trailing covering certain areas on the court but working in tandem. The NFL have many officials both on the field of play and on the side lines and they have had VAR and used it well for many years.

No one gets the crap kicked out of them, my word it's becoming a foul looking at a player these days.

Go and look at football in the 60s , 70's and 80's and watch a game now, pussy football now, and better for it in many ways.

The days of a CB or full back going through the back of a player and not even getting a free kick, never mind a caution are long gone.
