as a replacement for Vassell / Benjani he can't be that bad right? on a free, still very much knows where the onion bag is when fit.

I think we should look at buying 3 strikers who should be ahead of him in terms of team selection (my choices - Tevez, Santa Cruz and Dzeko) but I think he'd be a good squad player.

obviously with some clauses related to appearances and pay in his contract.

I'd have Owen so long as it's "pay for play". He's not so much a footballer, as a human sick-note. There's no way on earth I'd have him unless it was pay based on appearances.

With decent service up front (Ireland, Robinho) I reckon he would come good again, let's face it Newcastle were crap this season and no-one in their team scored many goals.

He'll definitely be leaving Newcastle on a free to a PL club if he wants to keep any ambition of playing again for England alive.

2 problems would be injury record and another midget up front, although he does get more than his fair share of headed goals for a midget.

No, he requires a team to be built around him and get the ball to him on the ground in the box, wouldn't complement our other players. A shadow of his former self.

I'd much rather bring a FIT owen off the bench than vass or benjani.with the service of ireland, robbie and whoever else we sign,i think he'd score quite a few.i'm all for it.
