Not the big ugly kind that bleed green and have rasta haircuts.

Did anyone see the show on the FX channel?
Kind of blows apart the sterotypical image of beasts that prey on young children.

I discussed this a while back, Scowy mate. I was shocked too, but I think it was Knight1979 who said those programmes were geared towards sensationalising the problems. Creating unnecessary fear, basically.

I'm sure he'll add to the thread in his own way.

That i can believe bigga,it's the way the yanks like to do things. However i do think it's good to expose the kind of people that are trawling the net and preying on young kids.

Well I have an update on it. There was a guy in Texas who was also a District Attorney. Well he was fooling around on the internet and "To Catch a Predator" latched on to him but he wouldn't come to the house.

The "To Catch a Predator" crew encouraged the local police to go after him and to surround his house. Eventhough the Police strongly urged against it and that it was not typical Police procedures, they caved in and went to his house because they want to be TV Stars too right? After all it will make good television. When they showed up the man shot himself dead.

Members of the family sued "To Catch a Predator" and they recently settled out of court and you know what, I'm happy for them.

Bigga and I have talked about it. Since he is parent, if it makes him more vigilant then that is of course a good thing. But I think we both agree that "To catch a Predator" isn't really interested in the real problem at hand. They want good TV. And why don't they just capture the guy when he comes in? Why do we have to listen to some self righteous prick who get's off on hearing his own voice interview these scum? It's good TV that's why.

It turns out, "To catch a Predator" goes to these small towns and promises the police that they will make "stars" out of them. Justy shady stuff man. When TV starts interferring with due process of the Law, that's just f***d up.

I'm all about bringing awareness to pedophelia but surely we can do it in a more tasteful way.

Rant over.

Well for me it was just a bit of an eye opener seeing the kind of men that seemed like ordinary average people that you'd never expect to do that sort of thing.

I do however see your point of view, but would you not agree that you could lay the blame at other American tv shows airing before T.C.A.P, that have had great success in sensationalism?

oh god yea, countless number of shows paved the way for TCAP, none of them blew up in their face quite like TCAP. When some guy who hasn't been charged of anything off's himself when the camera's rolling, you have a big problem.

TCAP knew they were in deep shit, paid the family off and quietly shut down shop

you are a total idiot if you think that! and you are as always wrong on everything else!

Ahhh Pocomoke......you're a joke....a brainless little joke

go back to the shopping mall twit

I love your argument too, "your're an idiot and everything you say is wrong". LOL!! I think my 5 year old cousin could have made a better argument than that. So I dare you to open your mouth. We can't wait to hear what kind of absurd shit will fly out.........let me guess your response on that one, "......your a dummy, you're wrong!!...". It's like arguing with Chris Farley.
