Well I have an update on it. There was a guy in Texas who was also a District Attorney. Well he was fooling around on the internet and "To Catch a Predator" latched on to him but he wouldn't come to the house.
The "To Catch a Predator" crew encouraged the local police to go after him and to surround his house. Eventhough the Police strongly urged against it and that it was not typical Police procedures, they caved in and went to his house because they want to be TV Stars too right? After all it will make good television. When they showed up the man shot himself dead.
Members of the family sued "To Catch a Predator" and they recently settled out of court and you know what, I'm happy for them.
Bigga and I have talked about it. Since he is parent, if it makes him more vigilant then that is of course a good thing. But I think we both agree that "To catch a Predator" isn't really interested in the real problem at hand. They want good TV. And why don't they just capture the guy when he comes in? Why do we have to listen to some self righteous prick who get's off on hearing his own voice interview these scum? It's good TV that's why.
It turns out, "To catch a Predator" goes to these small towns and promises the police that they will make "stars" out of them. Justy shady stuff man. When TV starts interferring with due process of the Law, that's just f***d up.
I'm all about bringing awareness to pedophelia but surely we can do it in a more tasteful way.
Rant over.
