Your connotation does not accurately reflect my denotation, but full marks for both effort and getting “trumps” in there!The clear implication from your post (at least as I read it) is that the US‘s attractiveness to immigrants somehow trumps the corrosive effects of its gun culture.
The US has many, many problems, with guns and religion being two of them, IMHO.
Even knowing this, emigration to the US remains unabated.
FWIW, many people think gun crime is so rampant as to be everywhere, all the time. It isn’t, but like Bogeyman, it lurks just around the corner…it’s just that no-one knows which corner or when it’s going to jump out at you!
I’m not implying that is good, only that there are hotspots with areas the size of the entire UK in between, plus the occasional nut job where no-one expected it!
