Fifteen months and we're already into it with young Miss Jots.

She's just started walking on her own so refuses to get in the buggy, slaps you when you pick her up, bites her own arm when she can't get her way and is generally causing mayhem wherever she goes.

She may look cute, but she's a brute.

We're coming down on the shit behaviour like a big sack of bricks, but she's got a smile which just levels you and her efforts at talking are hilarious. She's also started drawing and she ain't half bad.

Anyone else struggling with one of these little beasts?

Ignore bad behaviour, just turn you back ,they love the attention they get for being naughty, then loads of praise for good behaviour, not easy but that's the way to go,also remember they are starting to be more independent so want to do more on their own

November spawned a monster indeed. We've gone from cuddly mogwai to total gremlin overnight. I told Mrs Jots about feeding her after midnight.

Not the modern way I'm afraid kaz. I believe it's now de rigeur to give into their every whim, and then blame teachers when they turn out to be incapable of behaving long enough to learn anything. There is no such thing as stupid or naughty anymore either. They all have syndromes and 'needs' to excuse bad behaviour.

My sons being two years apart provided a conveyor belt of mayhem which increased exponentially as the next one joined the first one in creating mayhem and so on. It takes you a bit of time to learn how to outfox the little twats.

My wife used to work a Sunday back in the day and I had the three of them from 7am until 6pm.

I am not exaggerating when I say those days, and there were many, were the hardest fucking days work I have ever done in my life.

When my wife returned I would lie down on the couch emotionally and physically shattered.

It was the only time in my life where I actually looked forward to Mondays.

You love them more than life itself but they in return are involved in daily sorties' to break you.

Figure out the plan soon.

That's all I'm saying.
