Multiple reports online that Tom Petty has died after being found unconscious at home yesterday evening.

RIP.

Edit: Multiple reports now saying that CBS (via LAPD) wrongly announced that Tom was dead and that he is in fact still alive - albeit on life support.

The reports are quite confusing at the moment, none have actually said he's dead, but seems like they've turned off his life support machine so got to presume he's died....

So sad at this news. One of my favourite acts. First saw him supporting and blowing away Nils Lofgren at the Apollo in late 70's. Last saw him in July at Hyde Park - a superb gig: TP & Heartbreakers were just one of the great rock n roll bands.
