Tommy Muir RIP : minutes applause on 71 mins

My facebook is flooded with friends and family and tributes towards this bloke. I am embarrassed to say I don't think I had heard of him, but it sounds like my loss from all the things I am reading. RIP blue.

Just heard the devastating news of Tommy Muirs passing. A bigger blue you will not meet.

Met him at 17 when he ran the kenny in cheadle hulme , played for the footy team there with him and then me and my pals followed him to the george and dragon (following a landlord from pub to pub seemed a thing back then).

The george was THE city pub back then. We all played for the football team and was our local for years , until tommy left and we stopped going in.

Many an away game with tommy. Head of the cheadle blues

A hard man, a fair man, a loyal man, ex soldier, huge blue, RIP Tommy
Tommy was a legend. Certainly one of our club's greatest supporters who followed City everywhere. He was hugely respected and this is a very sad day. RIP

I didn't know him well, but knew of him and all he did for fans. I worked for many years with his brother, John, another top Blue. R.I.P. both.

I've never knowingly spoken to him but I probably have over the years, I certainly know the face.

It's always sad when a blue heads to the kippax in the sky and Tommy sound like a proper big blue.

RIP fella.

RIP Tommy, can only echo the sentiments of others on here that knew you a lot better than I did. Clearly remember coming back on the coach to the George after the infamous 5-2 at Stoke & celebrating Arsenal pipping United to the title by a point. Really genuine & caring bloke & a bigger blue you'll struggle to meet. Condolences to the family
