Tommy Smith RIP

my memory of him was he was hard as nails, dippers version of norman hunter, didn't they have him out for a cup final a few years back? walked with sticks if I remember correctly. defending has changed a bit since his time

If you asked anyone to name a football hardman of yesteryear, Tommy's name would come up quite a lot.
Could never hate him for it though. Think he was a character and never complained when on the receiving end.
Which, admittedly wasn't too often. He got in first.

Top bloke was tommy smith, hard as nails and part of a great Liverpool team of the seventies, but the likes of him couldn’t exist in today’s game they’d be off after only a few mins..R.I.P..
