Toni Kroos

This would be a much better signing than Isco, more what we need.
I'm going to have to disagree with this. Isco asds an edge Kroos doesn't. We need a flat out dribbler, and Isco is one of the best our there.

Only see this happening if Pogba heads to Madrid. Still don't see them selling one of their most trusted midfielders unless it was to upgrade him.

I'd say over the course of a season Kroos offers you a control and consistency that Isco just doesn't. I don't think we'd finish many games thinking "Kroos didn't do his job today" but I think we'd end a fair few feeling like isco didn't. After all there's a reason isco isn't making the real xi or the Spain squad. Some strange names are ahead of him.

And let's have no more talk of Yaya being involved in ANYTHING to do with us next season.

I was hoping Real Madrid got beat in the CL final as they might have revamped their team as a result. Can't see them selling any of their top players now although one or two of the fringe players (including Isco) might be available if they buy again which of course they will.

Never really known what all the fuss with Kroos is about ... Pogba for me any day of the week

This. Pogba is the best Midfielder in world football right now. He's younger than Kroos and provides much more, defensively and going forward than Kroos does. He's a rag hater and Pep lover. Plus, he's a management's dream. The money and fame this signing alone could pull to our club alone and English football in general would be insane.

I don't think there's any "strange" names ahead of Isco at either Real or Spain.

So,essentially, its one of Pogba or Kroos hopefully here.

I hope so. I trust Ric so if he thinks that we've been given any encouragement on the deal then I suspect we have.

FWIW I think we will do our business very early so I expect resolutions on most of this stuff by the end of June.

Lots of bonuses over having Kroos rather than Pogba.

Much cheaper
Far greater big game experience, and more experienced in general
Played for 2 of the biggest clubs in the world, under some of its greatest managers
Understanding with Gundogan both personally and football wise, who'll gain a fellow countryman
Arguably more of a "Pep" player
Seems to be quite calm, professional and unassuming, unlikely to cause drama/make trouble

I for one certainly wouldn't be disappointed if we landed him and not Pogba, would be one hell of a signing as a matter of fact.

You wouldn't consider vasquez, san jose, or soriano lesser known players? That's 3 of their 8 midfielders.

That's like saying it's strange Mark Noble is left out when Danny Rose is going.

Mikel San Jose is a defender. Bruno Soriano is an out-and-out defensive midfielder, and Lucas Vasquez is a pacy winger/striker.

The names ahead of Isco are:

Cesc Fàbregas
Andrés Iniesta
Koke
David Silva

Thiago Alcántara

And I wouldn't consider any of them "strange" names.

I think thats excellent reasoning and i think i agree.

Pogba is awesome,he'll get better......but there is a slight circus surrounding his character.......reluctantly and realistically,i'm also thinking he'd be a better fit in a Madrid dressing room.

I've been saying for a few months now (much to the irritation of some of my friends) that I don't think Pogba's a Pep kinda player. From his agent to his hair cut to his general attitude and style of play, he strikes me as someone like Ibra, and therefore someone who Pep isn't really gonna want to deal with.

Maybe i've just been talking myself out of it though because I don't think he's coming to us ;)
