Sounds like if you've got the freeview sports channels you should be okay .... they appear to have them free for everyone tonite as a 'taster' for anyone who's keen on subscribing with BT sports from tomorrow onwards.

I've got a freeview TV but get shite reception through the aerial due to trees in front and behind my flat. That's why I've got cable. However Virgin went to the same piss up and brewery school as the Maine Road ticket office staff.
