Cab omebody explain to me why we took off Garido and Carlos tonight with about 3 minutes of normal time and 5 minutes of added time to replace them with Sylvester the cat and Needum?
Has Bobby realised that there is every chance the chanpions League place could go down to goal difference, and as we were three up, playing against ten men, if we had continued to attack then we could have increase our goal difference possibly by another two goals (certainly one).
Fair play to him for bringing on Bellers at half time (although anyone watchin could tell at half time that more was needed), and giving Carlos a very well deserved ovation was a "nice" gesture, or getting him a bit of early treatment to ensure he is fit for Saturday, but could barry not have replaced Paddy at the same time, or bring on Rocky for carlos and have AJ (who had a very good gamewhen given the ball) and Bellers firing in crosses from either flank to try for more goals?

idk i felt that maybe nedum came on in preparation for saturday cos zab will be suspended so maybe he's looking to play nedum at CB and Kolo at RB?

doubt it though heh.

Wanted to have a look at Ned as Zab is banned for 2 games.

Our goal difference won't matter is Carlos gets injured.

That's why he's a football manager and you aren't!

Fucking hell, just can't please some people.

Maybe he took off Tevez, because Mancini regularly takes off the MoM with a minute or two to go if we are comfortable, so that they can get a standing ovation from the crowd? It's called man management.

Maybe he took Tevez off because he was injured enough to require a large pack of ice on his shin, and Mancini thought it better to drag him off and accept a 3-0, rather than risk him missing future games? That's called foresight.

Maybe he brought off Garrido because he thought that Nedum might appreciate some Premiership football, thus giving him extra experience/gametime in the Prem, and Mancini trusted him to not give away 4 goals in 4 minutes? That's called bringing youth through.

Actually, it's none of them, I think he's just a shit manager who is trying to derail our top four bid by ONLY winning 3-0.

I always make these kind of subs on FIFA because I like to give other people game time for a change.

Lmfao what the hell are you playing at Damocles you know common sense and intelligence isn't appreciated around here. Especially when we've got another reason to slag off the current manager.

Ahh before i forget Mancini out.

I think I covered bringing Carlos off with the two possible and both well merited views - reasons in my op, but i thought that instead of bringing on Sylvinho, I suggested two possible alternatives that could have POSSIBLY helped us get another goal, against a tiring ten man opposition.
Xavier has played well when asked this season and had another decent game tonight, and i have no qualms or queries about bringing hime off when Bobby did so, & can understand both reasons for bringing Tevez off at that time, but i just felt that there were better alternatives on the bench to improve our chances of gaining 4th place.

bloody hell OP

Tevez needed the rest
Sylvinho was brilliant when he came on and set up 2 great chances
- may have lost his legs; but has one of the best touches around and great vision

He was giving them a "run out" to make them feel they have some part to play for the rest of the season.

Even though Sylvinho hopefully hasn't.

pointless risking Barry and Rock, they will be needed in other games, give 2 lads a run out.

simple.

Ok then, why not Micah and needum, both young, tall, althletic and fast, I have said before on this thread that i can understand the substitution of Carlos, but why bring off Xavier? and why bring on Sylvinho when goal difference could be the difference between us and spuds gaining 4th place?
Not hard to rejuggle the defence, take off Paddy, VK to midfield, NO to CH and MR to maraude down the right hand side, Aj to move into a more central role (and as he can use both feet he would be best suited to this role)

Ned and Silv aint gonna play a big part in the run in like Barry and Rocky will, so giving them a 5 minute stretch out wont do them any harm, and the other 2 have had a full rest.

Maybe he brought them off as they were both on yellow cards, and things were getting tasty out there!!.......................................or maybe not!!

It's great when this is all we have to moan about. It's like the Spanish media fretting over why Victor Valdes is going to the world cup as their third choice goalkeeper.

I agree with the OP, Tevez could have scored another 12 goals tonight if he'd stayed on.
They should have subbed Given for Santa Cruz and really gone for it.

Those Italians know fuck all about tactics.

Agree 100%, this may be a bold thing to say but I think Mancini's substitutions tonight may just have cost us 4th place. ;)

Hahahaha! I feel tight if i leave a player out on fifa, and also tend to play players who played well in the last match (on fifa or in real life) Same with the pokemon game when i was younger. I had to stay loyal to my charizard through till the end because he was there with me from the beginning and to leave him out would be tight :) i'm going to stop now. Don't know how i got from mancini to pokemon... :S

Zab is suspended, Bridge and Lescott injured, Garrido is our only left back around (Sylvinho can't play a full game). Take him off and protect him.
