a) they're closer, b) bolton was a midweek game on tv in a cold snap and wigan is a monday night game on tv, this is a saturday lunchtime game, albeit on tv but the weather is fine, should be a lot fewer empty seats imo.

I think you will find that we are manchester is closer to bolton than birmingham is to Wolverhampton.

As for Villa v wolves being a derby - LOL

Do they? I lived with trhee villa fans who certainly didnt hate wolves, they just thought of them as a team who thought they had a rivalry with Villa, much like we do with bolton.

maybe its the ones i worked with then?
we had villa, wba and wolves there
the wolves and wba really did hate one another, but there was no love lost between the wolves and villa

Can assure you there is no love lost between Villa and Wolves. Although the true 2nd city derby is Birmingham v Villa.

Being a south Staffs lad, we affectionately refer to Wolves as the dingles round here.

The best relationship is probably between baggies and Villa fans. The rest pretty much detest each other. Coventry v Villa is a tasty fixture or should I say was when they were in the same league.

Villa have played more games than most, with good runs in two of the three cups entered. Would we sell out a tv game v Wolves if the club Charged £43?
I think not.
