out of the ten city have three, scum have four, chelsea have two and liverpool have one.

biggest flop has to be ANDREI SHEVCHENKO,then veron, then robinho. but carroll and torres could change all that with the way things are going for them.

plus some interesting stats on kun

Not sure how you can brand someone who scored 14 goals and created a number of assists in his first season a 'flop'

based on his time at us.not just his first year.yes i do think he is a flop.if he put in the effort that he is showing at Milan now things may of been different.a great player that couldn't cut it in england.

He could cut it as seen in his first season. After that he just didnt want to. I dont blame him really. Playing with the likes of Jo.

If he was here now he would be incredible. Him and Silva would be amazing to watch.

We have Nasri now so it will still be great.

Robinho had a good 1st season but he just couldn't be bothered in his second season and was lazy and wanted to be somewhere warmer where he hadn't got to work so hard, if he was here now I don't think he would get 1st team football as Nasri, Silva, Aguero and Dzeko are better in my opinion anyway

Robinho was atrocious away from home even in that first season. Only 1 of the 14 was scored away and that was a penalty.

I think you're forgetting that he broke his ankle and was never fully fit for his second season. Lesley rushed him back far too quickly when he was clearly not fit enough to play.

He was a great player for us in the first season, and the "track back" brigade only choose to remember the second season. People forget how completely tactically inept Hughes was, essentially asking him to play as a Steve Stone style up and down clogging left midfielder.

If he was playing in the current system under the current manager he would have been magnificant. Although, I have to admit with the players we have now, he would probably struggle to get a start regularly.

I also like sharing this with my rag mates... it soon shuts them up (it could do with updating)

I like it how ferguson has brought all these off the local streets of salford and made them into world beaters!!!!!!

£10m for Hernandez
£16m for Valencia
£31m for Berbaflop - YES £31 MILLION Ha Ha Ha.... I wonder who's fault that was....
£17m for Hargreaves
£17m for Nani
£18 for Anderson
£17m for Carrick
£27m for Rooney
£7m for Vidic
£6m for Evra
£5m for Park
£6m for Kléberson
£4m for Djemba-Djemba
£12m for Ronaldo
£13m for Saha
£7m for Smith
£7m for Heinze
£29m for Ferdinand - IN 2002!!!! TWENTY NINE MILLION!!!!
£19m for van Nistelrooy
£29m for Veron - IN 2001!!!! TWENTY NINE MILLION!!!!
£7.5m for Forlan
£8m for Barthez
£4.5m for Taibi
£11m for Stam
£12.5m for Yorke

There is one or two missing. Smalling for example. His fee has not been confirmed but it is the record fee Fulham have ever received for a player.

Sorry I did forget but as you said he would struggle to start, Hughes didn't play him in the right position but now he is played to his strengh at Milan he is showing potencial but the italian league is an easier league and less physical
so we will never truly know if he would have turned in to a great player for us

Blackburn away, everton away ;)

Tbh robinho saved us from a very shit season weather you like it or not, was he our top scorer, pretty sure he was? Probably a bottom half finish without him! He wasn't a big as a flop as the media mek out, now he's gone were all like yeah fuck him flop, but I personally loved him. Mancini did the right thing letting him go, you could see he couldn't be arsed in his second season, shame, his loss now though haha.

-- Thu Sep 01, 2011 6:47 pm --

I'd never give Rags shit about spending £29m on Ferdinand. By next summer he will have been there ten years, that's just £2.9m per year and look what he's won in that time and he's the club captain now.

It's more the record transfer fees in the late 70's and right throughout the 80's I'd give United shit for.
Schmeichel; Irwin, Pallister, Bruce, Parker; Ince, Robson, Kanchelskis, Giggs; Cantona, Hughes... this team was the most expensive football team ever assembled at the time. They had just two home grown players (Giggs and Beardmore) in the whole squad. And this at a time when they'd gone over a quarter of a century without winning the league title.

When they're winning stuff and get the amount of money in from their bandwagon as they do they're always going to be spending a lot of money. If the Rags fans can't see that they always have and always will spend a lot of money, then they're as thick as fuck!
