Top 100 Favourite Male Vocalists Final plus # 1

There it is on the facing page! Glad to see it. What a singer.

Some faith restored that Manc ballot-stuffers didn't wrest control of the poll :). Also heartening was the total disrespect for the winner of the most pompous voice award (Bono) and the guy who finished second (Sch-ting). Sad James Brown wasn't more highly ranked but pretty satisfying exercise all in.

Way to go @Protein Junkie!!

Favourite though.
If were talking singing skill AND showman, comedian, dancer, Sammy Davis Junior would win it. Nobody was a greater one man entertainer imo.
I had Sammi as my number one and incredibly I was the only one who voted for him full stop but I did so purely on his vocal range and ease which he could not only belt out a song but change tack when it was just right and appropriate to do so and for me when you listen to him its impossible for me at least to not be fully engrossed and encapsulated by the bloke like no other and with no disrespect when you look at him he would be the last person you would think could do what he could do with that voice ( changes from overtone to the stomach muscles and return was just incredible like no other I have ever heard ).

No equal in the areas you mention , no one who comes close IMO and you forgot story -teller as well.

he didn't just sing he was teacher , author , director and guide when he did and took you on a joyous journey you didn't want to end.

You haven't begun to live the life of music until you listen and watch Sammi Davis Junior in action and listen to him on vinyl.

The top 10 are all good.
Anyone from top 5 in particular would have been a worthy winner.
A large amount of people voted for Marvin Gaye in the end

Fog now over to you to declare who not in that list have we completely abandoned.

I agree totally with your sentiment re James Brown and his voice ( but what an entertainer in my top 5 of all time ) albeit I hold him in much lesser regard than the great Sammi Davis Junior who only silly me got him a guernsey and given the chairman who would have killed probably did (LOL) to get this great in his troop I am amazed the likes of Michael McDonald ( talk about pompous ) got more voters.

It was James Brown who I was thinking folks would be kicking themselves for missing given how incredibly influential he was on the entirety of soul/funk, and as an entertainer. But the SDJ shouts are another good one.

I voted for Sinatra #3 and thought he would win. He is the only singer I can think of where I listen for his voice and not the music -- if someone puts Frank on in the background, I never object no matter my mood. But I'm a child of rock and roll so the music matters more.

Should of guessed Fog as said not only influential but an incredible voice and in any of my top ten for entertainment , influence and song for many a genre but I left him out of my top ten given my taste beyond funk.

I thought your vocalist might have been a tad more obscure.

I am staggered only one other in 304 voted for him.
