Top 6 mini league 17/18

meant on 19 points in 8th and we turned it around. I dont discount any sort of comeback from any of the teams behind us. Like I said end of November we will see but there are a lot of fans who think we are going to walk this season, after 11 games, but I stick by my original comment we are going into the part of the season where we drop points, Leicester will be tough, end of November lets see if we are still 8 points clear. You guys can tell me I how wrong I was then and I'll be happy.
It's closer to the end of November now than the beginning.
We are still 8 points clear.
After the derby I believe that we will be 13 points clear of the rags and 9 ahead of Chelsea.

Spurs won't be challenging anyone. You just can't afford a record like this against the top 6. Cost us last season.

From what I have seen so far.

Spurs will bottle the big games and are too far behind us already. Will have the odd slip up at Wembley, too reliant on Individual players.

Liverpool look decent on their day but too inconsistent and vulnerable at the back. Too far behind us.

Arsenal always have a good day like today in them but a stinker like Watford away in them and don't take enough points in the top 6 games. Too far behind us. Their game against the rags is crucial to them.

For me The only two teams close enough to challenge still are.....

Chelsea - starting to look decent again. For me they will be 2nd behind us.

United - will win a lot of games at home and still bully the smaller clubs. Prediction - 3rd.

Between Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool for 4th. If pushed I would say Arsenal will get it for the simple reason the CL will impact the other two.
Arsenal v rags is a crucial game as you say, so will probably be a draw.
I hope that Arsenal can win it though.
I see the rags finishing 4th at best, Chelsea and Arsenal above them.

Otamendi is one more booking away from serving a further two-match suspension, prior to the a December cut-off.

Vinny is already on three, despite hardly playing.

Fernandinho is also one prior to a suspension.

This is where being the dirtiest team in the league may come back to haunt us these next few weeks.

With Stones out, we need to make sure that Leicester Cup game becomes a very convenient fixture to have half the team suspended.
It's quite amazing that with the possession stats we have and our superb style of football, that we are the 'dirtiest' team in the league!

Not so concerned about suspensions via the yellow card accumulation system.

The only thing that really concerns me is injuries and Stones out for at least 4 weeks comes at a bad time with the number of games we have in December but no injury does us well no matter who it is and the cover for the position.

I think we will go in the market in January for another three positions if the right player is available. Two of them we were close to getting come deadline day although Mangala would have been let go and losing Mendy for the season obviously wasn't on the radar then.

The start to this season gives us some insurance already but you can never be complacent as so far that's not what this side is as they have the look of a side that wants to destroy its opposition on the domestic front and do some damage in Europe but injuries can always impact this.

Chelsea are the threat. Looking at their fixtures, we really could do with Liverpool getting something off them at the weekend because after that they have 8 bankers in a row. They could match their 13 win streak of last season if they beat Liverpool (on 4 currently)

yh, well accounting for promotion/relegation they took 25 points from their next 10 games last season. However, they're 8 points down after 12 games this season compared to last season's fixtures, and on last season's record over the 22 games they took 58 out of 66 points. So it means that they have to have a really good run to maintain par in the next 10 games, and then they've got 16 games where they only took 35 points out of 48, which shows the games they struggled with last season are in the final third of this season.

Not much of an indicator but perhaps slightly re-assuring, plus they're in Azerbaijan on Wednesday and Liverpool Saturday, and they've not sealed qualification yet (something we've sorted to our benefit hopefully). These are all little factors that could add up and is the key difference for them from last year where they would have had this week off to prepare for the Dippers.

Wouldn't go as far as to say any are bankers. After all, they lost to Palace.
