Tories win Copeland b-election.

Labour as a party has gone awry. As a kid growing up on a council estate, everyone's dad worked, either in factories
or a trade, we all read the Daily Mirror, folk were generally patriotic and had royalist leanings, but virtually all of them
voted Labour. Nowadays, Labour MP's are invariably middle class, career politicians, have no experience of their core vote,
and eschew these values. Then we have the sickening virtue signalling procession of multi millionaire luvvie actors.
settled in their Hampstead mansions lecturing folk about how racist and uncaring they are, people are sick and tired of
this type, the party needs to take a long hard look at itself, or it's gone.

Some bloke today in Copeland said that he thought that Labour had gone completely wrong yet he couldn't explain why he had voted for them. This shows how big of a problem they are going to have, they just do not relate with anyone whatosever not even their core vote. When you think of Labour now no-one can say what they stand for beyond the obvious moral high ground. They have no position on business, the economy, the EU.... They are just an utter shambles.

No-one gives a shit about the preaching of inequality blah blah blah, no-one cares. If people cared about social justice they would of voted Labour in Copeland, they didn't. Stoke only voted for Labour because they always have. Copeland voted for the Tories because they will at least guarantee in part their livelihoods and also benefit them at home through tax cuts or whatever. Preaching that we should vote Labour to help some refugees or make society more equal... Sorry the world isn't a nice place, society is not equal and it never will be. People just will not take the risk of shooting themselves in their own foot to change something that just does not affect them.

I feel sorry for a lot of people who are struggling but should I vote to put my taxes up, put my job at risk yada yada.... No-one will say it out loud but they would burn in hell before they voted for that.

Must be true because as Jeremy knows best, the majority in this country are really new Trotskyists so there has to be some reason why he's lost. It must be the weather.
Apparently it's all those pesky Blairites in the party who are making them lose. They won't win anything until they've got rid of them all. This delusion ignores the stats that show Labour got the lowest share of the vote they've ever had by far in Copeland since the seat was created.

But I heard a guy on 5Live who changed to Tory from Labour because he thought getting a new MP from a different party would solve their ills - nuclear/ NHS the lot. When it was suggested his faith may be mis-placed because the PM had visited the constituency and declined to give any assurances he had no idea that had happened. The truth is the majority are not engaged to any meaningful degree with politics at all and make decisions based on what the see/hear in the media. A left or right leaning headline caught over breakfast does more to influence them than any campaigning by the parties. Thats the tragedy and the mess of British politics today.

The people of Stoke voted Labour not because they always have - after all fewer than usual did and they were staunch leave in the referendum - the reason Labour held was because Nuttall is a lying **** and a joke of a politican- he didn't live at the address in Stoke his registration said ( which I believe is an illegal declaration ) - he doesn't have a degree as his website claimed, he started the course but dropped out early on - he isn't and never was on the board of the NorthWest Training Council despite what he claimed, though he did once pay them a visit and had a look round - and the self proclaimed " Leppings Lane Survivor"........ well we all know about that odious lie. No the people of Stoke saw sense and fucked Nuttall off and after the disaster of his predecessors short reign and the fact that UKIP's very reason to exist seems to be no longer there means that hopefully they are a footnote in UK political history

He lost because he wants to lose. He is a loser. A protester , someone who is anti everything , that's who he is.
The thing I just cannot fathom is how this nonentity of a man, a serial protestor who throughout his entire life has shown no leadership qualities nor aspirations whatsoever, should suddenly one day have woken up and thought he'd like to be the leader of the Labour party and even the PM???

That he's managed to achieve even the former is all the more bizarre.

It's a great shame that the best leader the Labour Party has had in 70 years, a man who took Labour from the doldrums and who won 3 general elections, should have his entire premiership defined by the war in Iraq and his reputation and standing in the eyes of so many voters, completely down the toilet.

It is but he only has himself to blame for allowing Bush to lead him by the nose. He also lacked the courage to slap Gordon Brown down. The feud between the two of them also played a large part in defining his premiership.

Funnily enough, he was thrust forward. Not sure he had any aspirations before then.

He lost all credibility for himself and the party by not backing Remain. His ambivalence toward the referendum was the death knell.
The only way back now, is to, by fair means or foul, rid themselves of this puss.
