Tosin Adarabioyo

He's a free agent in the summer, buy back clauses won't come into it. Best we'd get would be training compensation.

Forgot about that! Then get him a new deal!

If he doesn't start/make bench next game then he's probably off.

I think his head has already been turned. We could offer him a big contract and make all the promises in the world about game time but he need only look at the other examples of us bullshitting and then shipping them off on loan. Actions speak louder than words and since the takeover we have pretty much given no youth player a real chance.

Good point.

Everton could be a great move for him, but the fact that he can't get games in our team given our horrible defense may be because he is not ready yet. Don't see him being given a chance here anytime soon as he is already far behind in the pecking order and it will only get worse if Kompany gets fit. We will also probably sign another CB in the summer so yea.

I would also be really upset if he goes to Everton and becomes a star for them, he certainly has the potential.

As a supporter, I would love to see him sign a new deal and then go out on loan to gain some experience and come back in a year or two to fight for his place but maybe that's not what he wants. Its completely understandable from his point of view as well.

We'll see what happens.

It's disappointing to lose him at this stage but he could be in the same situation at Everton.

Very good prospect indeed but you cannot force players of this age to have the patience to wait for their chance.

Changing the culture of the club into one that religiously promotes youth will help.

It's a difficult one with Tosin, because he's clearly a 'potential' top player, but clearly hasn't been quite ready to step into our dodgy defence in such a key position, on a regular basis.

If he's being promised more game time, at another club who have a record of using young players, compared to our apalling record in recent seasons, then it's easy to see how his head might be turned & it's difficult to know how we should react.

And the other club is in a much easier position. They can promise him stuff, point to our constant ignoring of young talent & their frequent use of kids, & he can assume he will play. If he gets there, plays one game & gets dropped for 6 months, it doesn't matter, they have him tied up anyway. They can't lose.

I'd be pretty dejected is someone as big as Everton wanted him, would reflect poorly on us.

I suspect right now he views being with us as a hindrance to his career and it's hard to argue against, leaving is better for his long term prospects.

Would be great to see him become the player we think he can be and return a few years down the line

He did a great interview on stage at the City Circle event and was loving it at the club but I feel the players such as him, Fofarna etc have been hindered initially by Pelli. Barker should have had a chance a couple of years ago even if just a taster and Ambrose who was on the bench but passed over for Sinclair late on when we were guffing some team was symptomatic of his lack of using youth.

Couple that sort of stuff with MDM over Denyer and it's not surprising that he'll probably move on without getting a chance to show if he's upto it or not.

It's a shame but looking like another one we as fans had (high) hopes for that won't get the opportunity.

Some of us have been predicting this situation for several years, whilst many on here have had the smug attitude that our academy can just survive on good coaches, some nice buildings & a sauna being enough to keep players happy. Sooner or later, we are quite obviously going to start losing the big ones to other clubs if we don't prove to them, that they are in line for a future in our team.

If all the kids like Barker, Bryan etc had been given a fair crack & then failed I doubt this situation would arise. But the fact that they have had no chance whatsoever, sets a terrible example.

Hopefully Pep will turn it round in the coming seasons.
