Total Football

Do you think that City will achieve a sort of total football? I certainly do in the attacking third. With Agüero, Tévez, Džeko, Nasri, Silva and possibly including Balotelli and Johnson you have 7 players who can play centrally right up top or work the channels or come in from the flanks.

Further back you have Milner, Barry and Yaya who can all either sit or go forward. De Jong is Dutch so total football comes naturally to him.

Add to that Kolorov, Richards and Clichy who can all play full back or play further forward. Not to mention Zaba who can do either the defence or midfield role.

That only leaves Lescott, Kolo and Vinnie at the back although all of them have had forays up front too, with Kolo starting life as an attacker anyway.

True total football would see all players play anywhere and whilst we haven't perhaps got to that situation, I think the attacking option is a really exciting prospect and as G Neville apparently said the other day, he didn't know what system we were playing as the movement was so fluid.

Even Joe Hart takes penalties, so what's to say he might not be the next Jose Louis Chilavert?
