Just looking at the forthcoming fixtures for us, is anyone concerened about the lead up to the Arsenal & the derby games?, in terms of recovery/rest days that is & not necessarily the opposition we are playing in the days prior.
I think the Newcastle game showed how difficult it is when we are playing on a Thursday night, have two days rest & then playing again on a Sunday.

I know we should have the squad to cope with this but we will surely be a tough ask with this schedule playing two teams we want to despearatly finish above.

Sunday 17/10: BLACKPOOL (A)
3 days rest
Thurs 21/10:- LECH POZNAN (H)
2 days rest
Sunday 24/10:-ARSENAL (H)

Making the above 3 games in a week & having a short recovery time for a big game Vs Arsenal, who play that week (they play us) on a Tuesday so will have TWO additional days to recover than us. Followed by...

Sat 30/10:- WOLVES (A)
4 days rest
Thurs 4/11:- LECH POZNAN (A)
2 days rest
Sun 7/11:- WBA (A)
2 days rest
Weds 10/11:- UNITED (H)

Making this 4 games in 12 days & 3 games in just over a week prior to playing them, again United will have an additional recovery day as their prem game the weekend before is on a Saturday.

I know I may be fussing over nothing & we would have a similar schedule in the Champions League but these things can sometimes have an effect & points lost on such factors.

Whoever decided to have the Derby Game on a Wednesday Night wants fkn shooting......GMP will no doubt let both sets of fans out at the same time again and we will have running battles all the way back to town

we should be able to twat blackpool and poznan. they arent the hardest games. the games before the derby are hard. but thats flukey united for you.

Tell that to Newcastle and Dipper fans.
If we go with that attitude we'll fuck it up

i know what you mean but we could have harder games in the run up to the arse game. the united game has a much harder run in and i hope manini plays a weakened team away in poland!

The run up to the debry is certainly a concern. We've probably got to be playing much weakened teams in both legs against poznan pretty much, but I don't think there's much way round the WBA away trip that's just a few days before the derby. Rags have Wolves at home the day before, so a chance to rest key players and they get an extra days rest. Not good

I don't like the look of the 4 in 12 days, 3 away trips, one of them to Poland, and playing Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday. Hard going that.

Also the Arsenal match, we have the beating of them no doubt, but it requires the players to be at their freshest, get in their faces and give them no time on the ball, could be a struggle too.

OK it is potentially tricky but would you rather have Spurs and United before Arsenal?

It's not bad....
