Tour de France 2020

Brutal. Was great to see Jumbo lose out and a boring rider finish off the top step.

Pressure may have got to Roglic. In 2018 when in virtual podium heading into the ITT on the 20th stage, he lost a minute to Dumolin, Froome and Thomas. Ending up in 4th place overall.

Nothing like an ITT at the end of a GT to expose fragility.

Absolutely mate - I’d be happy to see that climb as a regular TT feature on the final Saturday of the tour. Sometimes TT’s can be boring viewing but not that one.

(Though as an aside, they are the best stages to watch live, as you find a nice spot, get the picnic going & settle down for 4 hours of entertainment!)

Roglic must feel how I felt between the Mackie and Aguero goals.

He handled it well though, going over to congratulate Pog. Going to take a long, long time to process and get over that. Won't help to have it talked about for years to come.

Given some of the emerging talent he might not get another chance like that.

Last sentence spot on there.

Indeed would be great to have a tough ITT at stage 20. Preferably up Ventoux or through Ax3.

ITT a better roadside wide watch than a flat, fast race. We watched 2012 TT. A great day out. The road race was a waste of time (whoosh).

Yeah, too often they err too much on the flat side, but a profile like today was fantastic.

Great entertainment. Brilliant to see the different tactics on that final climb. Grind on the TT bike or swap to a road bike. Roglic looked ill. But pogcar deserved to win with that performance.

This climb looking like total torture for these earlier finishers. It’s known as the ‘race of truth’ with good reason, just an exercise in sheer pain threshold tolerance.
Used to love the race of truth as a rather second rate amateur trying to beat the hour for 25 miles........

He did look ill, though by the time that was clear on the tv pictures, he knew he’d blown it, which might explain his paleness
