Train to Stoke

Game kicks off at 7.45, last year we got one at 10ish with plenty of time before the game - got marched to a student union.

When you have got to Stoke, which is the best form of getting to the ground?
I have never been...I have been to Stoke but have no idea where the ground is from the station.

think you go past it on the train,then its a fair distance back to the ground,ie like leeds.

The ground is by the side of the A50, i.e. miles away from the main train station which is in Stoke on Trent. Taxi job. Nearly 2 miles.

Looked on google maps. That says the quickest walking distance is 4.1 miles
Might have to taxi it. But were going stoke for the day anyway then getting a cab from the centre (probably swashbuckled)

Last train back leaves stoke at 11.20 which means a bit of time after the game to get back to the station.

last year, we went spoons in the centre, then walked 2 the ground, wouldnt say its much further distance then town 2 our ground

last year when we got off the train we were greeted by stokes finest police who put us in an escort and took us to some pub from their they made us dive on the bus straight to the ground then after the game put us back on the buses and took us to the station. not sure wether it will be like this again.

i am going on the train with a few mates, off college for half term so we are making a full day of it, does anyone know if they will be running the buses back to the station after the game again? i hope they do so we dont have to piss about finding a taxi after the game, plus i am going to miss my last train back to mossley when i get back to manchester but ah well i'm sure it will be worth it
