Not sure if people are aware of this but there are trains back from Derby to Piccadilly on Wed night. You have two options
Leave Derby at 2315, arrive at Tamworth 2336, leave Tamworth 2336 and arrive at Piccadilly at 0110.
or
if you don't mind staying in Derby til midnight and staying in Sheffield for an hour you cn do:
Leave Derby at 0005, arrive Sheffield at 0041, leave Sheffield at 0150 and get back to Piccadilly for 0246.
Hope this helps people who want to travel on train.
