you would have thought the players hughes wants to buy, have given a yes or no already before the window opens on the 31st july, and they will be with the squad for pre season training. hes now saying some might have to be singed on the very last day, thats no good more players to bed in, we need whoever were buying as soon as the window opens, so they have a few weeks to get to no there team mates and surroundings

Not always possible - some players want to wait for more offers to come in, some clubs won't let players go until they have enquired about a replacement. Plus, as soon as the season stops a lot of players pack their bags and go on holiday. The top class players we want probably have a window of 2-4 weeks rest before they have to start playing for their clubs or countries again. Also, a 'no' now may be a 'yes' in summer.

But we are talking to players and agents already by the sounds of things, which is a vast improvement on previous seasons.

Window opens day after the season ends. Remember Bosingwa? He signed day after season finnished, but they had to wait till July to register him with FA.
