Transferring WhatsApp from one android phone to a new one

Can anyone h3lp with this?
WhatsApp keeps telling me it tried and falied to send a code to enable me to set up WhatsApp on my new phone. It just does not happen and there seems to be no other way of installing it and setting it up.
