Trayvon Martin

It is a bit strange how people are saying he's guilty when they..

1. Don't know him
2. Don't live in the States
3. Are sitting behind a keyboard

Why so sure he's guilty? The pictures of Trayvon are a couple of years old so he looks like a kid. Along with the quotes from his Twitter page, he seemed like he was heading in the wrong direction lifewise.

Don't get your point there fella. I fail to see what your 3 listed points have to do with having a view on Zimmerman's guilt, or not. There is plenty of stuff written on this case, and I'm sure if you read it all, thought about it and deliberated, you'd be entitled to have an opinion.

That point you make about the pictures of Trayvon and his lifestyle have been debated at length on here - and if my memory serves me right, they were heated debates.

People from other countries have different outlooks on life and situations. A lot of people on here who are mainly British don't see it from another side.

I'm still struggling to understand why Zimmerman is being called a 'cracker' when he's not even white.

It's America that's out of step with the rest of the civilised world when it comes to so-called self-defence laws and habitually carrying guns. There is no reason to see it from the American side. That America has by far the highest murder rate of westernised nations does not endear me to the idea of seeing it from an American perspective. Nor does the idea of being able to stalk someone, carrying a loaded weapon, end up killing the guy, and then still operate under the presumption of innocence. You see, that, is a murderer's charter. In most court cases people can testify against one another. In a case where someone's dead, the victim is at the distinct disadvantage of being dead and thus unable to testify, thus handing someone with presumptive innocence a huge advantage. That's why most countries don't work that way, and why, when you've killed someone, it would be up to you to prove you had a reason for stalking someone whilst carrying a loaded weapon. Again, most countries demand, for a self-defence to valid, that you are the one who retreats, not the one who follows with a loaded gun. This case really is a testament to the insanity of the United States and one of the reasons why I wouldn't live there if you paid me.

Been watching the trial.

After seeing Rachel Geantel, John Good and Officer Tim Smith on the stand I can't currently see anything other than an acquittal.

What he said. These are prosecution witnesses and they seemed to either butress the defense case or, at the very worst, inject a HUGE dose of "reasonable doubt".

It would be funny if it werent so pathetic how those who wanted to hang Zimmerman did nothing but inject race into the case, including some clowns in Congress, but now that the prosecutions "star witness" stated Martin called Zimmerman a "crazy ass cracker" those same people tripped over themselves to claim the EXACT OPPOSITE on Friday afternoon.

BTW the prosecution WAY OVER charged this case. I dont know if they can still ask for the jury to consider manslaughter or not. I think, in a case like this, the jury would be much more amenable for a sort of "comprimise verdict".

There will be riots if he walks.

IF he's innocent he should walk, no-one should be convicted on the basis there could be a riot if they're not.

Anyway who would riot?

Because a guy shot dead a black kid, because he thought he did not look "right" in his neighbourhood. There was no reason to do what he did, he followed him and confronted him, then shot him dead. The cops told him to wait until the arrived, he chose not to, so fuck him.

Kids just trash talking.

that makes it all OK then?? These kids will "grow up" at least age wise and then what happens?? Its the same attitude where Martins pal can say that "carzy ass cracker" is NOT a derogatory racial term.

Its the same reason why that twit Alec Baldwin can call someone a "queen" and threaten to "bury his foot in his ass but you would probably like it" and NOT be called to task that they are homophobis slurs.

Is the same reason why some well known chef cops to saying the word "******" YEARS ago and getting crucified for it..........

BTW I havent heard a thing from that fraud in the White House about Martin akin to something like this-"If I had a son he would look like Trayvon and he would call whites crackers."<br /><br />-- Sun Jun 30, 2013 1:03 pm --<br /><br />

I guess his injuries were self inflicted and Martin never told him he was "going to die tonight." Anything to take a pop at America. I get it you hate America. Fine. Great. No one will force you to come here, pal............

No matter your feelings Frank the man killed a person because "he did not look right". It does not matter what Trayvon would have become or if he had gold teeth and jeans sagging to the floor, he was murdered for no reason.

He was followed, attacked, defended himself and was murdered. All this case has done is highlight the serious racial issues bubbling under the surface in America. To try and say the crime was not racially motivated is absurd. He died for being black and being at the wrong place at the wrong time. The police told Zimmerman not to follow him and pray tell what constitutes "acting suspicious" the reason Zimmerman gave for approaching Trayvon.

People are using this to bring up their frustrations and I could post twitter rants from white people saying that N word deserved to die etc.

Cracker is not a racist term it originates from slavery when the overseers would crack their whips on the slaves. It merely means a racist white person trying to oppress you somehow. Most white people in the South call themselves crackers.

You might also want to call James Randi and collect his prize

Do you reckon folk should have an opinion about a country who think they rule the whole world? - NO

I don't really give a flying fuck about Estonia or Finland but the US of A unfortunately have a bearing on many countries including ours. Luckily one trait we haven't copied off the Yanks is their crazy gun laws.
