I just cannot grasp what people see in the likes of Trump and Johnson. It baffles me.

This is not a 'party political' point. There have been loads of Republican Presidents and Tory PMs in the past. I may not have agreed with them on most points. In some cases I detested them. But they were rational creatures, not obvious liars and charlatans. Most could, at the least, be respected. Some, like Thatcher, were undeniably intelligent, even if you did not agree with them.

I stress 'obvious' liars and charlatans. Yet literally millions of people worship, or have worshipped, these utter clowns.

There is something deeply wrong with society and 'democracy' when shit like this rises to the top.

I think without trump there would be no boris , he styled himself on trump, used trumps slogan maker to boast his campaign and continued with get brexit done for years , three word slogans land the best apparantly. He also saw how trump could say anything and get away with it and did the same

Russia are VERY good at playing the long game. Assets are groomed over many years, and if the stories/rumours turn out to be true, then Russia have hit the jackpot.

There is absolutely no way the USA would EVER want that to be made public, and neither will Russia for that matter (as it would expose their methods and sources). Maybe there is a select group of individuals that know the truth, and possibly people from other nations may also be in that circle of trust, but that information will be fiercely protected.

If there are strong connections to Russia and Russian influence, will it all come out though? The possible impact on the American psyche would be massive.

Do we know if the ICC arrest warrant on putin will be a problem for Trump when he is compiling his character witnesses for the trial? Interesting to see how this one plays out.
