Been going on for a while, but since the Turkish lira breached the 10 to a dollar mark, it's accelerated.

Erdogan after establishing himself as de facto supreme leader keeps firing his central bankers and quoting Islamic verse rather than raise interest rates. Basically, him and most of the ruling party are cocooned in a fantasy bubble where the rules of reality are not permitted. Think Johnson and Frost but on steroids.

Bulgarians are crossing the border in droves to pick up bargains, so its an Ill wind and all that.

Was there the first week in December and his policy is killing the locals.

I gave £20 tips to quite a few folk and they we’re so grateful as it was a huge sum of money to them.

As is always the case with such things, the bigger question becomes “What next?”

What do the elites have in store now they’ve determined this path is their way?

Often, the EFFECT is the guiding path for the CAUSE.

In short, be afraid. Be very afraid.

Turkey plays both sides against the other when it comes to power, and all roads lead to Erdogan’s pockets. Given the who and the what, the next question has to be the when of the next step.

The issues now are “Who does he blame, because it won’t be him?” and “How does he create more power for himself by ‘helping’ those he has destroyed, so they think of him as their savior?”

“It was THEM! THEY did it!
Look what I HAVE DONE to save you from THEM!”

That’s the only way for a Dictator!

I suspect he'll blame the EU whilst doing a "Trade Deal" with Putin.

Is he trying to create a situation where he can default on Turkey's foreign debt without making it look deliberate?
