TV Series

And I'm coming to the end of Sex Education, which started off brilliantly and boldly but has slowly got worse and less sure of itself with each season. It's still watchable and it's fun enough to watch the characters interact but I think it's bitten off more than it could chew and lost the run of what it was trying to say. Still, mostly good TV.
I think you're being over-generous there pal, first season was excellent, season 2 was watchable, but 3 started to slide down the steep and slippery slope and season 4 swan dived off a cliff.

Watching season 4 I am forced to conclude that as a straight male with no disability I'm in a minority of about 1% in this country. Everyone bar about 4 characters were either gay, bi-sexual, gender-fluid, waiting for, mid or post operative trans-gender, had a disability or any combination of the above. They even wheeled in (literally) some chap with what I assume was cerebral palsy for one episode in the school and he didn't even go to the fucking school.

In conclusion, season 1 was daring and funny, season 4 was a touch too woke for me

My thoughts exactly, first season was excellent the story and developing love interest between the two main characters was really well written. Have only started watching the last season and when they go in that new school, I just thought, what the actual fuck. It was like some sort of parody show. Like a reverse 'mind your language'

Finished the first season of Girls last night. Cracking show. Never really come across characters like this on TV before - basically the hipster class from New York in the late 2000s, early 2010s, but all very dysfunctional and damaged in ways that it seems they can't fix. Looks like a show that will follow their downward spirals.

Yeah, I wrote about 'Girls' way back in the day and noted Adam Driver to be a stand out in the show (don't recall him being at the start of the show. In fact I think it was Donald Glover as the main protagonist's boyfriend. I can't truly fully recall).

I may have mentioned about his energy and see him becoming a future star in the post (or it was in an upcoming actor thread or something) despite him being a weighty chap back in the day. I can't remember the big girl's name (she was the producer, writer (?) and star who burned herself out) but looking back, none of the female actors stood out (I only know Alison Williams name cos she's the news anchor Brian Williams daughter and there was talk of nepotism her getting the role), so not surprised none are household names, even though the show was a more interesting version of 'Sex and the City'.

Anyway, I think I chuntered on a bit cos I thought it was noteworthy and different seeing a female deal with all things to all people and not herself crumbling with mental health in a TV show.

Turned out it was pretty autobiographical. I'm determined not to Google her name and let it come back to me.

*Edit... Lena Dunham?? I think. Anyway, whatever.

I watched ‘Girls’ when it was on a few years ago and I enjoyed it as well.
Would like to add though it won’t be everyone in this forums cup of tea.

Adam Driver is brilliant as her weird boyfriend. He’s by far the best character.

Finished the 4 episodes of Boiling Point. I didn't like the first episode because, to me, it wasn't an authentic reflection of a really top notch kitchen. Subsequent episodes were better and the ensemble cast was good. I'm assuming that a second series will be commissioned by the BBC. Worth a watch and a strong 7/10.
