That's some pretty weird fucking shit. I don't think it was aired on British tv.

Banana Splits - made by people on acid and starring people on acid.

Best theme tune of all time.

Humphrey cushion anyone ?

In the 80's there was something called Chocky that scared the crap out of me. There was another one as well about a boy who lost his laugh in a bet and spent the whole series trying to get it back. They dont make them like that any more.

Portland Bill was the one.

Imagine a lighthouse crewed by the laziest, most useless set of cunts in the world doing anything but creweing the lighthouse. That was the cast of this show. It predated Father Ted by years and yet still had that stupidity element so endearing to the British. I always imagine hundreds of sailors screaming to their watery demise as Cromarty fucks about trying to fly a kite in a lightning storm, or Ross mithering over rock pools whilst an oil rig explodes in the distance.

What was the one in an old mansion called, the one with eyes peering through slits in the wall hung portraits at the goings on in the house?
Found that quite eery as a kid.

A proper treat for all Portland Bill fans. The man himself singing the theme tune.

Tales from Europe was on the BBC in the 60s.

It was downright odd, sinister and scary.

Can't find any youtube, but here is what the Telegraph told us in 2002.
