I think it gets a bad press because people are assuming it is people just posting mundane activities. You need to look at it as more an ongoing message board. Think of this place (OffTopic) but without the individual threads, just one long thread, but you only have to listen to those you want to.And you have to say what you want succintly.And you get to stalk celebrities.
Just think of it as being in the pub and having a chat with your mates. Except if one of them is being a twat you can kick them out.
