David Plat is quoted on Scott Sinclair in the following two articles. The quotes are the same but the headline and the stance of each story is completely different. Just shows how the media can twist things to suit their own needs.

Sinclair happy at Man City despite lack of first-team action, says Platt
David Platt has insisted that Manchester City striker Scott Sinclair is happy at Eastlands despite a lack of first-team opportunities.

The 23-year-old has played just 16 minutes in October and November after moving to the Citizens in a £9.2m deal from Swansea in August.

But despite his limited participation so far this term, City’s assistant manager Platt insists the former Chelsea forward is a valued member of the squad.

“When we took Scott, we sold Adam and we were probably having similar discussions about Adam, as he was fit and not featuring as much as he would like,” Platt said.

“Scott is doing fine. He has done well when he has come on, and when he has started games as well, but we have a big squad and everyone is aware of that.

“We felt when Adam was leaving, we needed the characteristics within the squad that Scott provides. Any player would want to figure more than he has done, but we think he is a valued member of the squad and is going to help us.

“When a player comes to this club, they are going to have to accept they are not going to play week in week out. Some will play more than others, but when we spoke to Scott, he knew what he was coming into, that it was a big, big squad.

“The manager’s door is always open to any player if they feel they want to go and play, like Adam did. But he seems happy and hasn’t made any noises about that.”

Scott Sinclair told he can quit Manchester City after just six months
The former Swansea winger has started just two matches for City since his £6million summer arrival and has had only 15 minutes of league action in the last two months.

It has been reported that Sinclair, who made significant strides forward under Brendan Rodgers at the Swans, is becoming restless on the City bench, but assistant boss David Platt has informed the 23-year-old that every problem has a solution.

‘When a player comes to this club, they are going to have to accept they are not going to play week-in-week-out,’ Platt said.

‘When we spoke to Scott, he knew what he was coming into — that it was a big, big squad.

‘The manager’s door is always open to any player if they want to go and play like Adam Johnson did. But he seems happy.’

Platt insists that — like Johnson, who is now at Sunderland — Sinclair will get chances for the champions but just has to be patient.

City’s no.2 added: ‘When we took Scott, we sold Adam and we were probably having similar discussions about Adam.

‘He was fit and not featuring as much as he would like. We felt when Adam was leaving, we needed the characteristics within the squad that Scott provides.

‘But we think he is a valued member of the squad and is going to help us.’

Every newspaper radio station has their own angle on how they report on city some clearly have an agenda to try and put a spanner in the works at our club others sit on the fence unless I hear it direct from the mouths of the people involved take it all with a pince of salt and don't believe the hype!

Metro probably get their stuff from the same places as the Mirror, sportreview.com probably write their own.
