People are ok with the future. It's the present most are concerned about. They are the future.
Maybe we should allow them time to produce before claiming they are flops and the bloke that signed them made a huge mistake?

So Stones then? How long has he been here? Not unreasonable to be critical of that track record. If only this was the discussion mate.
Im happy to answer. Other than keeper which i think is a decision Pep took on advice from the club re Hart, we haven't signed the right quality of players, Stones aside in the positions you mention and its really poor given our budgets and it has to be addressed this summer latest.
Phew, that was better than arguing the toss with posters who want Cook back and who want to talk about Tevez!
It's perfectly simple, the contention from the critics of the DoF is that his player recruitment for the goalkeeping, full back, centre back and defensive midfield positions has been poor, leaving the squad woefully unbalanced and giving Pep a headache he could do without. If you dispute this, please provide a list of all the quality young signings he's made that have strengthened these positions and will be an integral part of Pep's plans going forward. I'm all ears
Why are you pretending that Txiki goes and buys players and Pep just accepts it?
The decisions are made together, and we know Pep was involved in signings in 2015, as well as the 150m we spent in the summer and Pep didn't want fullbacks.
Or if he did want fullbacks, he didn't want them as much as he wanted a keeper, a defender, a midfielder and 3 wingers.
They are the future.

But for me, overlooking the fullback, CM and CB area for three wingers is a huge oversight.

Possibly, but there isn't one person responsible.
Begiristain goes out and gets players the manager wants. With £150m in his pocket in June, if Guardiola, his great friend and a manager he's spent years trying to get here, has told him to make fullbacks a priority then we'd have bought fullbacks.
Between the 3 parties involved, we clearly decided that it was more important to nail down up and coming prospects like Sané, Jesus and Stones than get fullbacks.
It's perfectly reasonable to question that, but don't lump it all on Begiristain because it's disingenuous at best.
You're the one being disingenuous by focusing on one transfer window and attempting to find the manager equally culpable for a recruitment failure that pre-dates his arrival by years. Pep may not have felt defensive signings were a top priority before he started working with the squad but I bet he sure as hell does now, and that's the whole point of having a DoF in place, so that you're not constantly having to rebuild the squad every time a new manager comes in.Possibly, but there isn't one person responsible.
