u18s v Sunderland / today 1230 / live City+ / u18s PL. (22nd Feb)

2-0 at half time. They are such a good team.
You would hope that a couple of them have a long term future at the club , bringing us much joy when the senior teams are struggling this season to reach the heights of past years.

They should be undefeated and 14-2 -0 but a good outfit none the less.

The future is bright they really are a talented bunch.

Mukasa and McAidoo are special Gorman rarely puts a foot wrong and is Mr consistency in that midfield for me, the team is tactically organised front and back even if we decided to to take things a little too easy while in control.
This may be seen as a bit of negative but last season despite dominating nearly every single game we lost and dropped more points than we should've, there's a maturity in their game management it's better this season the lads waste less energy, there were some lapses I expect most will learn from them long-term as they get pointed out and cut them out of their game.

It's tough to say how many can make it to the top but there's so much quality at this age group I could see many doing well for themselves, wouldn't be surprised if more of these lads than our previous sides have good football careers in the top two divisions of this or other countries.

It was nice to see a Floyd Samba cameo someone I've heard a lot about for ages, he wasn't outstanding but showed some encouraging signs of what's to come from him when he starts playing more often he's not long turned 16, he was strong energetic and aggressive he showed he has good movement off the ball in the final third and put in a good delivery too.

I agree about Gorman. He is a class player. I noticed he wasn't in the UEFA youth league team in the 2-2 draw, or the squad against Feyenoord. Do you know whether that is because he wasn't part of the original squad?

He's not featured in any UYL games as far as I remember but it's u19s the UEFA youth League so we may be giving the older lads their chance, I'm also not sure if he actually needs permission or not to leave the country from his parents.

Maybe that could've been a reason for him not featuring this season in the European games, honestly though it could get as simple as us giving all the lads from the EDS side the proper chance we feel they deserve.

as good as these lads are right now you couldn’t replace the EDS lads with them as a general rule, I can’t think of many swaps you could make just yet. The talent is very, very impressive I agree but UYL and PL2 is a big step up from what is a 2 team sub standard PL North.

Also EDS are top of PL North, and through to last 16 of UYL so doing pretty well themselves to be fair to them
