U21 European Championship

Sancho should be at this tournament and not the nations league. This experience would be a platform for him, chilwell, TAA and a good few others I earlier mentioned. Bizarre that England don’t take the best of that age group no matter who they play for.

Take a leaf out of Spain and Germany book.

It was a stupid challenge, but he's not a "brain dead player", he's a good player who made a mistake, he had some very good games last season for Leicester, still has things to learn, but he'll become a top player imho.

It clearly wasn't what he wanted, he was clearly heard several times asking them to play it out from the back, but they kept hoofing it to nowhere. I'm no fan of his, but he was trying to get them to use midfield, but they kept bypassing it, they're young players, and under that pressure the instinct is to clear it, but with nobody to hold it up, it was just coming back.

The winning goal was pure comedy, especially as he might be united's big summer signing, the last thing they need is him.

Did we sack Carsley by the way ? Left our U18's in 2017.
You can't just yell "pass it out from the back" and expect players to do that when you have them all camped in their own box, the midfielders were right next to the defenders and for some reason he brought on strikers to use as secondary fullbacks, meaning no one was up field to pass the ball, hold up the ball, or even put pressure on the defence and stop them bringing it straight back. He set them up in a way that made it bordering on impossible for them to play it out, but then just kept yelling at them to play it out, it's shit management

As I said, I'm no fan of Boothroyds, but maybe the players weren't doing what he wanted them to do, because they are still young and inexperienced. Maybe the two forwards were there to give more height at the back, and someone else was meant to be in the forward position. We can only judge on what we saw and heard obviously, the right things were being said, but not done, whatever the reason.

It's hard to know really. He's absolutely miles better than Walker was at 21 IMO, and he has all the necessary attributes - pace, ability on the ball, tackling - to be a top full back.

I don't think we should be spending 50-60m on players like him, but if a team like United was being run competently, he could be a sound investment - the kind of player who could hit that top level in a couple of seasons.

If we were on the up again like we were circa 2010, I think he'd be a good buy.

I really like him. As you say defensively he's excellent and he excels in 1v1s. I think he could definitely do the Walker role, but he's very poor in possession.

I’ve just seen some clown comment on Fodens goal with something like “let’s see him try to do that in the premier league and not against 20 year olds” it’s almost as if he’s in a tournament that restricts participation based on age...
He’s been bossing 20 year olds since he was 16
