I meant competitive against other leagues/competitions, as La Liga's statement gave that as the main reason.

But even so, the only way to become more competitive against other leagues, and therefore financially stronger in the long term, is still by increasing competition within the league itself. This short-sighted attempt at playing a game in America would have had the opposite effect.

This fucking halfwit just means the football business, the normal match going fan couldn't give a fuck if the shares of their club go up on the stock market.

Well done to the Spaniards and the players for sticking the boot into this lot of parasites.
 
It's got me thinking that if the players and clubs don't want to play their league games in the USA, then it's only a matter of time before the Champions League invites a couple of non-European clubs like from the USA to play in the Champions League.

It made me laugh that the Spanish La Liga players stopped for 15 seconds ? Let's get it right here, the players are greedy and there are some crazy numbers being paid to players right across the european leagues

I am not talking about the likes of Haalands and Mbappe Messi, Ronaldo's, the superstars. It's the ones like Sterling at Chelsea £300.000 a week, that's killing the game and not playing in the USA,

Not many clubs are making money to bank for the future, it's all about getting the best players to sell shirts and sponsorship deals tv money to pay their wages, Football is player power-based and 90% of the money made is going to them and 10% for the club and this is what is killing the game.

The people running football are all out-of-touch cunts. FIFA, UEFA, PL, clubs - it doesn't matter. All fucking cunts. How difficult can it be to do it better?

Agreed. I kind of feel that if it has to happen, then you have to do both games between the teams abroad (ie. Villarreal v Barca and Barca v Villarreal).

Obviously it doesn't have to happen though and shouldn't, it'd be an absolute farce.
 
Footballs has been killing its self for years.
If this game or any game happens in America or anywhere else then footballs finished.
Glad this isn't happening but it won't be long
