He’s a fucking journalist, isn’t he supposed to covey news and fact in a legible manner or am I showing my age in such lofty expectations?
Well it normally takes me a few edits to get what I want to say across properly, so I'm probably not one with room to talk but as you say he's a journalist at apparently "the biggest news publication in the world" according to twitter.

Just my take but I believe our owners have avoided wheeling out the big cannons just so long as there’s an available compromise that’s not too difficult to swallow. That’s not to say that’s a situation that will continue to hold. I see them as proud people who will come out fighting if painted into a corner.

Anyway...we are the fcukin Champions!

There's only so many times you can turn the other cheek, enough is now enough. In spite of their best efforts we are one of the biggest clubs in the world. Would media outlets want to be banned from attending our home games and denied access to our manager and players at such a time? I doubt it

But PSG were adjudged to have been sponsored by a related party above fair market value. That seems to be the case here with the emails purportedly exposing Abu Dhabi's payment of the Etihad money. So why would City be banned when PSG were given a retroactive devaluation?
Because the problem of UEFA with PSG is the value of their related party sponsorships. PSG didn't try and fool UEFA (what City is accused of) about those deals and their value.

UEFA in concertation with PSG deemed that 200 M QTA deal was worth 100 M. So, PSG operated with that 100 M value in mind.

However, when PSG did Neymar/Mbappé, Real Madrid, Barcelone and Tebas went mad and cried calling foul. Then UEFA launched an immediate investigation and decided to devaluate retroactively those deals.

Again, it is not PSG that had unilaterally decided it was worth 100 M. It was UEFA that agreed it was the fair value.
So they went on and decided QTA is worth around 50 M and they devaluate the other contracts by a minor margin. Instead of showing benefices during 2015/2016/2017 years, PSG is now in big deficit due to the retroactive effect.
PSG has now one window (15 days) to find the difference to comply with the authorized deficit in FFP break even rule. PSG, then, proceeds to sell for the correct amount missing.

So what happens ? UEFA then launches another investigation over their own 1 year investigation, saying they should investigate more and deeper and devaluate more : simply, they want to make us being caught by FFP despite the fact we did exactly what they asked us to do.
So PSG goes to CAS and we win on a technicality, not even for their obvious moving goalposts strategy.

City is accused of having lied about the way (and who is behind) the money is coming from some sponsorships. A similar situation would have been if Football Leaks had shown QTA is receiving direct money from the Emir of Qatar to finance PSG. But well, it is sure that QTA deal was a way to circumvent the FFP in the first place anyway.

And the latest news about QTA (named Qatar National Tourism Coucil recently) is that UEFA expressely asked for the termination of the contract !
I didn't even know UEFA could tell you to terminate a contract. I mean, they can put the "fair value", all right. But who are they to tell you to terminate a contract.
However, recently, Nasser said that the contract could still be going on but under another form. He said that since there are advertisement about Qatar (Visit Qatar) around the stadium and we make the Winter Qatar Tour promotion, it should not be for free.

Pretty sure the Mail overtook them a few years ago. So that's not a great call.

Please can someone clarify who’s server was hacked? Was in on the City Group network hence just our emails or was it some central server with many clubs emails? If the latter, is it just Der Spiegel that has trawled through all the content and decided who to pursue? Are they sat on other sensitive emails from other entities and decided to ignore them? Or is everyone else squeaky clean?

Haven't followed since last night. So are we in real trouble here or is it just the usual "talk with no action"? The club's statement gives me some encouragement that we haven't done anything wrong.

Something very weird is going on.

Everyone who saw the new break earlier today saw it... it was either "sources close to the case" or "people familiar with the case"... Even City's legal team commented on it. I can't seem to find it in the tweets or the article.

Lets just hope someone had the sense to take a screenshot. As NYT/Tariq have gone into full on denial by the looks of it.
If it’s been out there once it will be mirrored on a server somewhere.

Dan Roan on 5Live now.

Still saying the offence being investigated is the Etihad accounting from der Spiegel. Also says the verdict is expected in the next 2 days.

As we've said for ages, I don't think there's any way UEFA can win that case. They accepted the value of the sponsorship, and after that it's none of their business where Etihad get their money.

Think they are sat on thousands. Not sure where they came from, but not just our club.

How fair was it Pre-Sheik when we wern't rich and the united's and real madrid's of Europe were doing the same thing and no one cared?
Remember la Liga clubs having billions in debt and not paying their taxes ?

Nothing to see here, apparently.

Clubs being able to sustain their spending thanks to the solvability of their owners ? Nah, big problem for football !

It is no surprise the klopp mentioned competition wirh Citys finances yesterday and it came out in the NYT coutesy of the Fenway Sports group. Its an old school smear campaign aided by the bbc. It still goes back to 2014 and the year of slippery G.

Wow the cartel really has no shame. If it was up to UEFA I think they would encourage investment as that makes CL even more exciting. UEFA are just acting on the behalf of the likes of Bayern, Barca, Real, Juventus.

Absolutely disgusting.

I'm keeping a lid on what I feel about this currently as it may turn out to be much ado about nothing. However, if we do end up with a CL ban I really hope the club come out swinging and go for every organisation and as many individuals as possible.

Targets include:

UEFA
BBC
TalkSport
Most print titles
Roan the Rat
Every sports journo more or less other than Samuel
G14
Gill
Loads more but I've not enough time to list them.
