I think we are missing a trick here. We just need to get Nick Freeman, the Loophole Lawyer, on the case and the job's a good 'un. Afterall, he got Fergie out of the shit (or was it with the shits?) and loads of others.

Thank me later.

Maybe wrong but I thought CAS would be more about following the procedures , and if they rule against UEFA on procedure that’s as far as they will go. If we wanted to go further we’d have to make a claim for damages against UEFA probably in a different court. So the CAS hearing we are more concerned with overturning the decision not clearing our name , hence the ‘initial’ part of the club statement.

I think that’s correct. CAS is about the process and procedure - is it fair and reasonable ( and does it align with uefa process and procedure?) and ultimately - is the sanction a reasonable response to the findings of the investigation. So we do have a few bites of the cherry in terms of procedure and we must be very guilty of serious wrongdoing to have a sanction as severe as the one awarded upheld.

I get that sir, wasn’t having a pop. Honest.
I do try to be objective and wouldn’t take any outlet as guaranteed but it’s nice to see a little bit of pro City news amidst all the fucking hounds out there.

Didn't take it as a pop, pal.

We're desperate for any positive slants.

Sadly, the only positive one today came from an outlet which has basically discredited itself to the fullest extent in terms of this entire subject.

This is as severe as it comes. Missing two seasons of European football and a £30m fine will cost us £200m+.

Btw, separate subject; but Ornstein from the Athletic has repeatedly said that according to his source this will be Pep’s last season. Total click bait nonsense.

In that case, couldn’t we just have proved that during this investigation (or even before it got to that) to nip all this in the bud?
We weren't given the chance and I suspect we were never going to be listened to anyway. We submitted a large dossier of evidence to support our case but it wasn't read before the case went to the AC. We have subsequently never been asked to appear before the AC to make our case.

It's really like a Stalinist show trial. The outcome was known in advance.

I thought HH was Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed? Whatever, it's certainly not Sheikh Mansour and the emails said HH would "arrange" the extra funding. That funding comes from Abu Dhabi, probably the Executive Council, not ADUG so it's not owner investment.

What I assume has happened is that all the due monies were sent to ADUG for onward transmission to City and that Soriano's request to Pearce to have these split out is precisely because they need to ensure we avoid accusations of equity funds being mixed up with partnership revenue. Which is exactly what I'd expect from an organisation trying to ensure everything was whiter than white.
H.H.: His Highness - i.e. he is royal. H.E.: His excellency - i.e. he is or has been a senior government appointee. So HH could be anyone of the brothers in the royal family.

So we were punished for not cooperating with the investigation, but we weren't asked to cooperate with the investigation? Seems fair.

Agree completely with your last sentence, but didn’t UEFA say we’d failed to co-operate too? Something doesn’t add up.
