As potentially doomsday like as your post reads I have to say I agree with every word of it. FWIW I am very confident we are totally innocent, mainly based on blind faith as a fan but also on the extremely bullish initial response from the club and Soriano in particular.

I do not pretend to be an expert on middle eastern culture but from what I know, to be proven a liar would be deeply damaging and it is this reason that leads me to think Soriano wouldnt have been so hugely indignant and combative in the aftermath of the ban. Quite simply I believe the club due to my own faith in them but also by following what I believe to be simple logic - to be SO combative and aggressive even in our immediate statement following the ban, tels me the club have proof of their innocence.

Never discount the possibility that uefa and their string pullers may have thought "sod the aftermath, let's do them now. By the time the truth comes out (and they'll probably push for a NDA in the judgement) the world will have judged them and plenty of mud will stick regardless of the truth"

Make no mistake, the stakes aren't simply can we play in europe for a year or two, the stakes are the very future of the club.

I expect us to win and I await the victory with relish.

I hope the club go in for the kill.

My concern is UEFA will offer some concessions and we'll take that instead only to get fucked over again in another 5 years.

Can’t imagine khaldoon will have been blagging all this time that we are clean when we aren’t? Soriano might be the CEO but he still would have to have things approved by mansour, khaldoon and the board?!

I believe that we are innocent of any wrongdoing.
The problem is, even if things go our way, some clubs' supporters will not accept that we are not corrupt and retain suspicion about us in their minds.
We really need to put this to bed and sue Der Spiegel and UEFA for reputational damage.

Written like that, its pretty frightening the overall consequences of the CAS appeal. Lets just hope we prove beyond doubt our innocence.

What could we sue Der Spiegel for? All they have done is publish some leaked information. But the information was correct. It's other that have put a spin on the information and not looked at them in context.
