I have to say this even though I expect lots of flak :)

What we are guilty of is gross negligence by getting caught. Club officials have been amateurish in the extreme by allowing highly confidential mails to be hacked and to be honest if we were reading them from another club we would be getting stuck into them.

Have the club used various means to bypass the effects of FFP after the first sanctions? Highly likely in my view and the mails pretty much confirm this. Conn is right (unfortunately) in his Guardian article that the club has had the opportunity to provide the full email chains to refute them and presumably they havent done so. We are relying on the defence that the mails were illegally obtained so cant be used as evidence.

This defence might be enough...I doubt it though.

So let me get this straight. Liverpool avoided sanctions for failing FFP because they didn't qualify for European competition the following season. Then if City get a 2 year ban then next summer go out an buy up mbappe and other top players and lie in wait for the chumps league a season later

In the worst case scenario the manager and some star players will leave and we will be impacted for 2-3 years as we recover.

2 or 3 years, even 4 or 5, is absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of this clubs future though.

We won’t be killed off. We’ll come again and over the next 10, 20, 30 years we will be the most successful English club.

One day we’ll look back at this era when they repeatedly tried to stop us and we’ll laugh because ultimately they will have failed.
Keep taking the pills mate. How the hell are going to be allowed to spend loads of money again. Uefa will control it. Clubs will raise their prices even higher. If we don’t win this appeal our time dining at the top table will be over. We’ll have to rebuild again and who knows how long it will take. Love your optimism though.

Positive in all this.... without UEFA competition we can spend whatever we like in the next two years.... can’t we?. Rebuild the squad, orchestrate a couple of domestic trebles and then go back into Europe. Personally I think the club seem pretty confident and I think we will see UEFAs heads on poles at some point

This was a bit of a shock if I'm honest, all the experts were saying we would be okay. We all know they have been out to get us for years and it is now time for the club to either put up or shut up once and for all.
we havnt had chance to reply yet other than a short stement from the club,im pretty sure citys legal teams have already done the homework for multiple outcomes, its going to be very interesting the next few months
