UEFA would strongly support a British world cup bid.

If you google World Cup 2030, it would appear that Uruguay and Argentina are already lobbying FIFA (100 years since the first Final), and if we're being really cynical there's less of an Islamic terrorist threat in that part of the world.

However, we'll be encouraged into making a bid, only to be disappointed when they give it to China.

Bit of a silly rule and would make zero sense to enforce in the UK with 3 big London teams and 2 big Manchester teams. Can't see anywhere being expanded as a result, PL clubs are expected to support themselves and with the backlash from the Olympic Stadium they would use the stadia in place. Besides, Wembley is already big enough for a final venue and you've a pick of 5, maybe 6 grounds for the semi.
Silly rule or not, it's still a FIFA requirement AFIK. The main advantage of a UK bid is that the cost would be low, but that's not something FIFA have ever worried about.
As for a UK bid; I can't see all four nations being granted qualification due to host-nation status, and FIFA said they only wanted single nation bids after Japan/Korea in 2002. They may have softened this requirement in recent years but support from UEFA doesn't mean acceptance by FIFA.

Good idea. To avoid any controversy, it should also include all UK territories, and crown dependencies overseas, such as the Falklands, Gibralter, the Isle of Man, etc, all hosting games, and therefore qualifying automatically. Honduras vs The Shetlands will make El Classico look like childs play.

So all games played at Spurs/Arse/Chavs/Wemberlee/Hampden/Parkhead/Cardiff/Swamp then.

I hope that's played in Twatt.

FIFA can go and fuck off 2030 for england/uk to only host the 1966 world cup when the others have had 2 is a shocker
the bent fu*ckers can get stuffed and it sounds like they need us now and are after tv revenue with big major companies wanting to pull out

football and the FA should have got rid of fifa after what happened and form a new power to run football and others would have back them with england and FA holding alot of cards and tv companies and new governing body would be the only way forward for long term sponsorship. but again some how fifa still hold council and are still in power and again doing what they want and looking for investors for the world cup with the biggest getting it so its down to who pays the most

I'm not sure we have much of a claim to host it because others have hosted it twice, when there are countries with professional leagues who haven't even hosted it once (China, Australia, etc). We couldn't even be arsed to take part in the first three in Uruguay, Italy and France.

The only countries that have really hosted it twice are France, Italy and Brazil and they had to wait up to 64 years between tournaments. Germany hosted previously as West Germany rather than a united Germany. Mexico only hosted it again in 1986 because Columbia withdrew at the last moment.
