More backtracking this evening from a government that knows it has no public support on this matter.
 
From what I see, the SNP are putting policies forward to in order to put pressure on the UK for a referendum.

Could be completely wrong, I do wonder where the Scottish electorate want to be so would be happy for them to have it.

Not sure, Theresa May made a similar commitment to what the SNP have done. Think it suits both sides politically where it has ended up.

What I’ve not seen is any stats on what has been the impact in Ireland, given they implemented similar reforms several years ago. It’s one of those topics that’s so emotive on both sides of the debate, it’s hard to find much objective content about it.

It probably does, short term. The more it unravels though, as a law it self, the less it will start to suit both. Particularly the snp, quite likely. And both will make more of turning it into a constitutional issue.

Agree, which is behaviour that’s par for the course for both of them.
