They are not asylum seekers they are refugees so the travelling through countries line is irrelevant.

I think it is our obligation to take as many refugees as possible. And no cap must ever be put on asylum seekers.
And what about our fellow EU members? Are they tied by the same obligations? I'd have thought that Great Britain was a far distance to travel for a refugee, especially when Italy, Germany and Spain are much closer and capable of tending to their needs.

And they do already.

Germany takes far more than we do. Sweden is a desired destination. They dont all want to come here you know, that is the Daily Mail lying.
Well Germany isn't full up, is it. Neither is France, Italy, Spain, Greece or Portugal. If as you say Sweden is their desired location, then the EU should do their best to ensure they reach it. (I don't read newspapers either; they all have an agenda which caters to their chosen readerships preferences and bias. Mirror lies, Sun lies, Mail lies, Guardian lies...)

It's not a 'shared responsibility', it's meant to be about what's best for the refugees, and what is best for the refugees is to reach a sense of normailty, safety and protection as soon as possible. How is crossing an entire continent helping them achieve that?

Heard another belter from Farage yesterday on tin-pot local radio saying all the refugees heading to Italy should be, "Rounded up and sent back to where they came from."

Alf Garnett anyone..?

After travelling through several Countries to get to England , how many would you let in?

How many would you?

none actually

Once they had reached their first EU country they were safe and their refugee status ends the rest of it is purely economic migration and no one has a divine right to that

now how many would you let in All of them I suppose?

Would you board the life rafts to add up there points or like Farage would you check for bibles first?
No. They aren't landing on our shores.

Was hoping you'd overlook that and the fact the poster said after travelling through several countries how many would you?

They are not asylum seekers they are refugees so the travelling through countries line is irrelevant.

I think it is our obligation to take as many refugees as possible. And no cap must ever be put on asylum seekers.

Taking in as many refugees as possible and having no cap at all on asylum seekers would surely lead to trouble.

Who pays for them all to be here ? I certainly do not want to. Sorry Rascal but your too nicey nice for me.

The moment a refugee leaves one country of refuge to go somewhere else they are no longer a refugee but a migrant.

Do you realise they are human beings?

No. He just doesn't pay for it.

And a few posters are right. Once they hit Italy and leave they are economic migrants, not refugees.

When they are drowning they are at sea. The sea is full of water not land.

But arguing technicalities makes them sound like pieces of meat rather the human beings they are. They are being demonised because they are fleeing war and poverty and want to make a better life for themselves. Thought you tories likes a bit of get up and go?
