Not really, a decent player in a terrible team.

The Southampton goal was overhyped, ran past three or four defenders who never even put as much as a half hearted challenge in and chipped the ball over a goalkeeper that had gone to ground far too soon and was a laughing stock in regards to keepers at that time due to his frequent and awful blunders.

Its amazing how it really looks without blue tinted galsses on.

He's in the past, a very dark part of it as well. Wouldn't get in the 25 man squad now.

No way, he was a joy to watch. Quality!!

No doubting his talent but stood out in a piss poor team.

He had 3 seasons with us and got relegated twice. When he left, his world class footballing talents took him to, erm .... Ajax then ..... erm, Derby County.

Good player, yes. Over-hyped just a touch and nowhere near the class of player that we have the privilege to watch every week in the modern day team.

Thanks for what you did Georgi - but we have moved on.

He was my favourite player growing up, sitting in the Kippax with my dad! How times have changed.

What a load of fucking horseshit.

That goal was as good as anything we will see from the present team & if not for the fact he was a lazy fucker, he would be the best player in the present team if he was playing today.

His attitude may have been questionable but his ability was second to none.

You know what this forum really needs? No, what it really, really needs?

ANOTHER THREAD ABOUT KINKLADZE.

I loved sitting in the Kippax and watching the guy, I really did - every time he got the ball the excitement went up like for no one else! But it's the same old video of him doing the business against old division 1 shit as on every thread about him. If only we played fucking Oxford every week.

Wouldn't get near the current squad; there's a reason no decent team wanted him; (all the talk of Milan, Barca - total bollocks, Sheff Wed were really the only half decent team to come in when we went down from the top flight). He was part of the worst City team in history and spent two years in the second tier; can't really imagine Silva or Nasri doing that. When he went to Ajax, they proceeded to achieve their worst league finish in 20 years. He was injured for most of it, but they were a poor, poor team.

The man had skills and I will always love him for being a shining light in a very dark time, but the blue-tinted specs are more blurred for him than any other player in recent memory. But seriously, he's light years away from the quality we have now.

there are very few players today in any team who can run with the ball like he could, a true talent, but sadly often didn't have the heart to go with it

I'm gutted for some reason I can't watch this vid on my I phone and this guy was the one at an era in my life that made me think I'm so proud to be a blue.

Kinkladze was an immense talent , if a frustrating one at times .....

he was probably at his best during his City days , he never really appeared to do much elsewhere at club level , and some of his performances for Georgia appeared to flatter to decieve.

Exactly this.

Course he would get in our current team/squad anyone that says otherwise either didn't see him play or is clueless about football.

thanks Georgi, you alone brightened the dark day's and gave us blues hope and belief.without you we might of lost a few to the darkside!

People who don't rate him must be bonkers, my mate who is 26 and a Blackburn fan remembers wanting to watch city matches back then just to watch Kinky play and remembers him as a legend. I find this with most non city fans who recall him, the same goes for Uwe. Everyone recalls Kinky vs Soton and Uwe vs Rags when he went bonkers at the manager when he scored a corker.

Personally my dad, brother and me went to city in those dark days just to watch him.

Am guessing the 12000 fans who signed the petiton pleading with 2 stay another year after the Reading game no longer follow City anymore the amount of drivel wrote about him is a fuckin disgrace most skillful player I have seen wear a Blue Shirt by a mile
