the amount off shit the ref's and video panel have handed out to manchester city with red cards and yellows i really think its adds up to about 26 games missed by key players not saying we would have won all them games with the ban players but it would have given game time to gel more as a squad and keeping match fit that's a key point match fitness

i feel manchester city would be top of the league by 5 points without them red cards that players had to sit out and ref's fucking up to a point that the chelsea game was a title decider a 6 pointer that the ref bottled it and should have been 10 vs 11 for a big chunk of the game and chelsea being down to 10 and chasing and gamble city would have ripped them a new hole

The referee didn't bottle it against Chelsea; he knew exactly what he was doing.

It was Anthony Taylor, the supposed Antrincham fan, whose two brothers are season-ticket holders at the swamp.

Few beers with a red tonight. He's convinced the league cup is a decent trophy. Thought he was kidding at first, but no, it's major. Didn't used to be, but all of a sudden.....
To be honest, it felt like a real trophy in 2014 and 2016. Still gutted we didn't put up a better showing at the swamp, as we might well have won it again.

I think the point @babyape is trying to make is that the rags used to dismiss the League Cup as a Mickey Mouse trophy. Now all of a sudden it's become a decent cup to win, whereas Blues have always considered it worth winning.

I know I have.

Indeed. For me, a cup is a cup, a trip to Wembley is always a big thing. Rag's change the narrative to suit their particular need. And their needs right now are bordering on desperate. So now, all of a sudden it's a fantastic cup for them to win...

the league cup to be fair is not seen a major anymore even manchester ctiy last season did not parade the trophy

football is about money and both cups in england have been put back in the pecking order behind a top 4 place in the champions league and arsenal and others have made a whole new way of saving a season and managers jobs and history by nicking 4th spot. the FA and EPL need to look at giving up the league cup and revamp the FA cup and having a champions league place given to the winners. then make the league cup a under 21 trophy and premier league clubs taking part at smaller clubs near by or at the 2nd stadiums

i don't think the big teams really want to play in the league cup and only sponsorship makes them play in it and its daft that with european football being played by 6 or 7 clubs from the premier league are made to play weaken squads its not good for football fans paying good money only to see a 2nd team turn up something got to be done. am not saying just scrap the league cup but give the fans a choice to pay money for watching a 2nd team. making it a under 21 plus 3 over aged players would give the younger players a chance of some limelight

i even would like the league cup revamp of a under 21 team with a couple of guess legends playing some part like some of the old clubs fans legend that are still got legs and fitness and not so old its daft but say the 40 odds that can still play and give them a 2nd life in the game its sad we just turn them away after they give up football

Dropping to half way plus down the page, can't have that, it's almost like we don't care!!!!

Fuck off you scummy bastards.

I feel much better now.
